Setting
• The setting in the story was Palmer Intermediate School.
• This school only contained the 6th Grade.
• The Palmer Intermediate School had a big gym, cafeteria, playing fields, and a auditorium with a large stage.
Conflict
• The conflict in the story is that Mr. Meinert had to lose his job because the town could not afford music and art teachers.
• Another conflict is that Hart threw rubber bands at Mr. Meinert and caused the students not to pay attention to Mr. Meinert anymore.
Resolution
• The resolution in the story is that Mr. Meinert will enjoy his time off and that the students would learn something different.
Theme
• The theme of the story is that life is full of changes.
• This has happened to both Hart and Mr. Meinert.
• Hart has experienced the change by not liking chorus to being director of Winterhope.
• Mr. Meinert has experienced the change by being chorus director to losing his job because of the town budget cuts for music and art teachers.
