The importance of being the right person in marriage

Was the importance of picking the right person always

reinforced to you?

And I DEFINITELY agree that picking the right person

is a must if you want to have a happy marriage.

But BEING the right person in your marriage is just as

important.

If we are going to have good marriages, then we have to focus on being

the right person EVERY day of our marriage.

So how do you become the right person for your mate?

1) Spend time with Jesus.

2) Ask the Spirit to help you make your marriage the A priority second only to

your relationship with Jesus.

Pay attention to each other EVERY day.

Serve each other EVERY day.

Talk to each other EVERY day.

Forgive eachother EVERY day.

2) Ask the Spirit to help you make your marriage

a top priority second only to your relationship with Jesus.

3) Ask the Spirit to help you keep committed to one

another.

Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge

the sexually immoral and adulterous.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to

man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted

beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape,

that you may be able to endure it.”

1 Peter 5:6-9

4) Husbands, ask the Spirit to help you love your wife as

Christ loves the church.

Ephesians 5:25 “And you husbands must love your wives with the same love

Christ showed the church. He gave up His life for her.”

Husbands, you are designated as the spiritual

leader of the home.

5) Ask the Spirit to help you stay humble before each

other.

Ephesians 5:21 “And further, submit to

one another out of reverence for Christ.”

6) Ask the Spirit to help you continually say good

things to your spouse.

Proverbs 16:24 “Kind words are like

honey--sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”

Ephesians 4:29 “Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that

your words will be an

encouragement to those who hear them.”

7) Ask the Spirit to help you pray together.

8) Ask the Spirit to help you not give up.

Galatians 6:9 “So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At

just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing

if we don't give up”

9) Ask the Spirit to help you listen.

James 1:9 “Everyone should be

quick to listen, and slow to speak.”
