The Gaudy God is a filmmaker, designer and vintage dealer with expensive bad taste. Creating under the antithetic he likes to

call “classy trashy”; a mix of high to low pieces composed of

hand-picked 80s’ garments paired with original designs.

Style & fashion are his religion and this spring/summer season

he’s turned to his Bible (the cult classic 80s’ film Heathers)

for inspiration. Filled with cut-outs, lace, wide brim hats,

and strong shoulder pads, this is not your stuffy grama’s attic

vintage. These are clothes that people have worn and will

continue to wear. In blushes, blacks, & whites this collection

is for cute girls and gay guys who aren’t afraid of walking down

the street with a funeral floral arrangement cross around their

neck.

The Gaudy God is a member of Chicago’s underground vintage scene,

operating without a store front, selling his curated vintage

collections at various hosted parties, trunk shows, and pop-up

shops around the city. All vintage is one of one. He accepts

appointments upon request at his Wicker Park showroom.
