Dedicated to Genetics
Goal
• Establish a European reference portal for Human Genetics. This will provide a more efficient means of development of higher quality multimedia didactic material on Human Genetics through guided editing and assembly of educational packages and the sharing of different types of learning objects in different languages.

Educational Levels
• based on Bologna process http://www.ond.vlaanderen.be/hogeronderwijs/bologna/actionlines/QF_three_cycle_system.htm
• 6 qualification levels:– 2 pre-university levels (GCSE, A-level)– 3 university levels (B.S., M.S., Ph.D.)– expert level (scientist, teacher)

Content Organization
• Content organized through covered topics• Topics structured in a tree hierarchy
(developed by domain experts)• Hierarchy visualisation, exploration of content
Example: part of a statistical genetics hierarchy
Cross-language retrieval
• Shared multilingual terminology (ontology) of genetics
• Concepts organized according to their meaning
