Three Accounts

1. People Can Change

• Saul was the chief of sinners

– Acts 26:9-11, Gal. 1:13

• Saul was engrossed in religious error

– Gal. 1:14, Phil. 3:5-7

2. Sincerity Alone Is Not Enough

“Then Paul, looking earnestly at the council, said, ‘Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.’”

• God has provided proof of His existence through His creation (Rom. 1:20)

• The truth of the gospel has already been confirmed (Heb. 2:3-4)

“…for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you”

• Cornelius prayed, but he was not saved (Acts 10:4-6)

• Prayer for forgiveness of sins is a privilege of the child of God
