THE ANIMAL KINGDOM
HOW IT GETS NUTRIENTS
The giraffe eats: leaves, branches and thorns. It is heterotrophic.
HOW IT REPRODUCES
Giraffes reproduce sexually.
The gestation period ranges from 14 to 15 months.
WHERE AND HOW IT LIVES
Giraffes live in the African savannah. They need to be surrounded by trees. They uses their long necks to reach the leaves on the trees.
EXAMPLES AND HOW IT IS IMPORTANT
Giraffes are important because other animals feed on giraffes, then the remains of that giraffe disolve into the soil where it helps new trees to grow. Then a new born baby giraffe gets to eat that tree and the whole process starts again.
