Swank Digital Campus: Basics

• Over 18,000 films from major Hollywood studios available

• Instructors must select films and embed in Blackboard/Moodle for students to view

• Instructors can customize lesson plans for each film• Cannot create clips, but can instruct students to view

just sections of film• Plan ahead—it can take up to 10 days to receive film if

no one else on campus has used it before• Cannot show outside of Blackboard/Moodle, but can

stream in class or allow students to view on their own

There are a few more steps to use the extensive film collection from Digital Campus than our other

streaming resources. This is because managing rights with major commercial studios are more

complicated.

We have the steps outlined on our LibGuide, and you may also contact Cathy Rothermel (carother@uncg.edu) or any of us or your liaison for help.

Step 1. Go the Digital Campus page from the LibGuide.Step 2. See what films are already available (you need a password)Step 3. Grab the code for the film you need and embed in Blackboard.Step 4. Don’t see the film you need, search Digital Campus (no password necessary)Step 5. Request the film using the online form. You will receive an email within 10 days with the code to embed in Blackboard.
