I suppose I have to admit that this production isn't all that unusual, but it is %onder ul+and I %as a bit surprised to ind it available on Net li!. I still remember the irst time I heard this opera. I %as incollege, and I happened to ind an B in the ree bin at Eintage Einyl. Those irst notes+so ull oenergy+knocked me side%ays.

I've seen this+but it %as years ago/ It's a 7amlet ilm that is primarily based not on 7amlet itsel but on the source material or 7amlet. I remember it being airly violent and having scenes that you %ouldn't %ant to %atch %ith your grandmother sitting on the couch ne!t to you.

I had high hopes or this ilm because )easure or )easure is one o hakespeare's most underratedplays. This ilm version o the play isn't abulous, but it does help get the play into the public eye.The production takes hakespeare's Eienna and puts it in the :ritish military. I haven't yet seen this, either, and perhaps I'm doing it an in ustice in putting it in this category. :utI've seen the cast list, and it doesn't appear to have even one 4romio. till, I %ill try this+I gatherthat one o the characters recites some lines rom )acbeth.

4erek #arman's Tempest gave me more nightmares than The -omedy o Terrors is likely to. I kno%that a lot o ilm bu s and hakespeare scholars speak highly o this, but it's poorly lit, the lines aremostly mumbled, and that makes the ilm on the incomprehensible side. Try the -hristopher
