Dear Friends in Christ,
Recently, I read an article from CBS-CNN that said, “Many Americans say they attend church
because it helps them stay grounded and gives them spiritual guidance. A new study suggests that regular attendance
may also help increase their lifespan. The researchers found that women who went to church more than once a week
had a 33% lower risk of dying during the study period compared with those who said they never went. Less-frequent
attendance was also associated with a lower risk of death, as women who attended once a week or less than weekly
had 26% and 13% lower risk of death, respectively.” This was the whole quoted article, so I do not know how the
information was attained, but I am sure that one who attends Mass regularly and are faithful to prayer will have
spiritual health that lasts into eternity. While I know I should be concerned about my health in this life, I must admit, I
am more concerned about my spiritual life and doing all that I can to prepare well for life in Heaven. As the summer
approaches, let us not think that taking a vacation from Mass is wise, for a vacation without Jesus is an empty event.
God bless you,
Father Szolack
Family Prayer Crucifix for Vocations
Each week we will see a family receive a Cru-
cifix to take home for the week to pray for vocations to
the Holy Priesthood and Religious Life. It is con-
tained in a beautiful handcrafted box which also serves
as a stand for the Crucifix. Prayers to be used by the host
family are on a laminated program in the box. Every
weekend the host family will return the Crucifix in pro-
cession. A new host family will receive it at the end of
Mass. Let us pray for holy vocations to religious life
from our parish. If you are praying over a possible
calling, please speak to Father Szolack.
Please contact Mrs. Denise Dietrich 215-901-3199 if you
would like your family to receive the crucifix at St. John
Vianney Church. Thank you.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
God bless our men and women who
put their lives on the line to preserve freedom around the
world.
We thank God for our good fortune to be citizens of the
USA. We continue to pray for our men and women
overseas especially, Ryan Berthold, Justin Gousha,
Shawn Jarrell, Becky & Nick Johnson, Brian Schwartz,
Rob Solome, Sarah Turse, Charity Winkler and Lieut.
Carlo Aragoncillo. If someone has returned home, we
ask that you let us know. Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they
perform in our time of need. We ask this in Jesus’
name. Amen.

invite all parishioners to participate in this important
effort. (If each or our 3,000 + registered families would
each give $5 - $10 we would easily reach our goal).

covered dish dinner. This meeting will be held on Tues-
day, June 28th beginning at 6:30 PM. Installation of
New Officers will also take place at this meeting. Please

With all of the rain and cool weather we
have been experiencing lately it is hard to
believe that the weather will soon be
warm. But it will get warm and when it
does we want to be ready for it. All of
the monies collected from the Poor Box on the week-
ends of June 11 & 12 and June 18 & 19 will be used to
purchase fans for those in need not just in our parish but
throughout our diocese. We hope to make this summer
a little more comfortable for as many as possi-
ble. Please be as generous as your means per-
mit. Thank you in advance and God Bless You.

ST. MARGARET REGIONAL
SCHOOL
CLASSROOM HIGHLIGHT
Ms. Allison Sharp
Music Teacher
Ms. Sharp has been teaching at St. Margaret Regional
School for 1 year. With the young students, Ms. Sharp
enjoys playing games that include “Socks” the music
classroom monkey. The students give each other clues
using the concepts of pitch or dynamics to help find
where “Socks” is hiding in the classroom. Ms. Sharp
also instructs elementary students in identifying tem-
po, timbre and rhythms as well as listening for the
sounds of various instruments in musical selections,
identifying musical notes and symbols and comparing
melody and harmony parts. Middle schools students
begin to learn about composers, compare modern and
classical music and learn about music history. Ms.
Sharp helps students to grow spiritually by helping
them learn songs for Mass so they are better prepared
to lift their voices to our Lord. She works with the
Student Mass Choir to rehearse prior to our special
school Masses. Please keep Ms. Sharp and her music
students in your prayers this week.

Rev. John Sullivan who spent over twenty years of his
