Bordeaux Olivier Kahn discussions 2015

20 years ago, the Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux (ICMCB) was built. 20

years ago the late Olivier Kahn founded the Molecular Sciences group in this institute. He

developed the themes of molecular magnetism and played a pioneering role in the study of the

interaction between molecular magnetism and light. Regarding this anniversary and the fact that

2015 is also the International Year of Light, it is therefore the ideal year to pay tribute to Olivier

Kahn, by hosting an international conference on the interaction between light and molecular

magnetic materials and more specifically on spin-crossover materials.

More than an international tribute to a man, it is also a meeting between leading researchers

around a theme of great interest to the molecular magnetism community. Every year, the topic of

the discussions will change and will alternatively take place at the ICMCB and the CRPP. The BOOK-

D scientific program is organized to leave plenty of time for conversation. We wish to make this

conference more than a time for the presentation of results, but also a special moment for scientific

exchange in confidence, in order to generate working groups and collaborative projects. A real need

for this type of event has been expressed by the international community.

The organizing committee is very pleased to welcome you all for this first meeting in Bordeaux, at

the ICMCB, on the general topic of spin-crossover and light-induced spin-crossover.

The organizing committee.
