PARISH PRAYER God of All Goodness,
You have called us from the corners of the earth in order to form this community of faith in Chicago.
You have blessed us with a living faith so that our faithless world may come to know You.
Make us generous toward those who hunger; compassionate toward those who suffer abuse;
kind toward immigrants and refugees; merciful toward those who sin against You.
May we be true disciples of Your Son, faithful stewards of Your Grace, evangelizers who are strengthened by the gifts of Your Holy Spirit that our petitions
may bear much fruit and give Glory to Your Holy Name. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
ORACIÓN PARROQUIAL
Dios Bondadoso, Tú nos has llamado de los rincones de la tierra
para formar una comunidad de fe aquí en Chicago. Nos has bendecido con una fe viva para que nuestro mundo desanimado pueda conocerte. Haznos generosos para con los hambrientos; compasivos para con las víctimas del abuso;
Tu Santo Nombre. Por Cristo, nuestro Señor. Amén.

We extend a warm welcome to all guests and to all those who are looking for a church to call home! We invite you to pray with us throughout the year. We encourage everyone who attends Mass regularly to register as a parishioner. Registration is important for you as well as for us. For you, registering means you have a family to come home to, a place where your voice as well as your prayers can be heard. If you are asked to be a godparent or sponsor, if you need a letter of support or reference for Immigration, a job interview, a college application, these can only be written for registered parishioners as they require stating how long or how well the person practices their faith.
PARISH SERVICES
*BAPTISMS: Parents and Sponsors are required to attend a Baptism Preparation class prior to selecting a date for the Baptism. Contact the Rectory about list of requirements.
*WEDDINGS: Contact the rectory for more information.
PRESENTATIONS OF NEWBORNS, 40 DAYS, 3 YEARS OLD, please contact the Rectory for more information.
ADULTS wishing to be Baptized, Confirmed or celebrate First Communion, please call the Rectory and ask for the RCIA Program.
VISIT TO THE SICK: Please let us know when a family member or neighbor is confined to the hospital, nursing home or is homebound. A member of the Ministry of Care will call for a visit.
COTILLIONS: Must have all sacraments and call the rectory at least 4 months before the wished date for the cotillion.
FOOD PANTRY IN ALBANY PARK: Please keep in your heart our brothers and sisters in need. Please donate to the Albany’s park FOOD PANTRY at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, located at 3253 West Wilson Ave. in Chicago. Donations for the pantry may also be dropped off at Our Lady of Mercy Church at Sunday Mass or at the Parish Office.
FUNERALS: The funeral home you choose (there are three who advertise on the back of the bulletin) will call the parish while you are there to arrange the times for the various funeral services. Catholics should be given a funeral Mass even if some members of the family are not Catholic. This is not optional, but an essential element of the funeral rite. The rites also include a vigil service (usually at the funeral home) and a burial service at a Catholic cemetery.
Catholics should be buried in a blessed tomb or crypt. Cremation of the body is allowed, but the remains should be buried in a final resting spot. Just as we receive from the Lord body and soul, the family should also give back to the Lord their loved one’s soul and body.
ASSISTANCE: Limited assistance is available for parishioners to help with food or rent. Please call the Parish Office for more information.
