SN BATTLE REPORTS
RULESPACK v1.06
SN Battle reports started in July 2014 with the vision of recreating the old school style picture battle reports that people were used to seeing in the White Dwarf magazines. Our goal was to steer the game away from its hypercompetitive status that had been
commonly seen throughout the years and bring it back to its roots with well painted fluffy armies.
In January 2016 SN held its first No Retreat tournament, and despite it obviously having an element of a competitiveness, we wanted
our event to mirror our battle reports. We created a ruleset that encouraged players to create more fluffy lists whilst also trying to level out the playing field between each army to the best of our ability. Aside from that we wanted to make the whole No Retreat
experience to be about more than just a tournament, but a gaming retreat. Unfortunately though, as much as we would love everyone the chance to join in on the experience we can only cater for a limited amount of slots, so we have to filter through all the applications
and pick our favourites (and that is not an easy task!)
Fast forward to today and we feel like we have achieved what we set out to do when we started. We are very proud of our No Retreat
events and with each event it just gets better and better. So for all the players who wish to apply and/or have been successful in
their application, below you can find the rules for the upcoming No Retreat event.

o Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment

SCENARIO RULES
Maelstrom objectives are all setup in advance and equidistant to each other. They may not be moved
at any point.
Mysterious Objectives rules will not be used for any objective
Units cannot be holding or contesting more than one objective at any time. Also, units cannot capture
both a primary mission objective and a maelstrom objective simultaneously. At this point the player
must nominate which objective they are claiming at the end of their player turn, which cannot be
changed until the start of their next player turn. They are also considered as contesting the same
objective and cannot contest any other objectives regardless of their proximity.
There will be 5 games played during the course of the tournament.
Each game will consist of three missions; A Primary, Secondary and Tertiary, which will be scored
as follows:
o Primary Mission: 14vp (Eternal War Mission)
o Secondary Mission: 8vp (Maelstrom Mission)
o Tertiary Mission: 6vp
In the case of a draw on any of the missions, both players will get half the points for that mission.
Objectives from the primary missions must be placed at least 12” away from each other and 6″ away
from a maelstrom objective.
All Primary mission objectives must be placed on the ground floor
When drawing your maelstrom cards, if there is absolutely zero possibility of achieving the objective,
you may immediately discard it and draw a new card. That being said, if there is even the slightest
remote possibility of achieving the mission, regardless of how slim or ludicrous it may be, then you
must accept the card. Secure and Defend objective cards cannot be discarded in this manner.
All maelstrom cards that are worth D3 points are automatically worth 2, and cards worth D6 are
worth 3.
All games will be played using the Dawn of War deployment.
Once the final scores are recorded, In the case of a tie break, players will be ranked depending upon
who has gained the most logistical points from all their games collectively. Logistical points are the
point values of a unit that has been completely destroyed. Units only partially removed grant no
points to the opponent.
First blood will be replaced with “First Strike”. You gain a point if you managed to kill a unit on your
first turn
The advanced rules for Battlefield Terrain will be used and explained for each board prior to starting
the event
The Battlezone and Expansion rules found under the Advanced Rules section will not be used.
All Troop choices have objective secured. Therefore they always count as capturing an objective,
even if they have less models than the enemy, unless they also have a unit with the same rule on the
objective.
Units with the battlefield role Flyer cannot capture any objectives.
Players roll off to determine who has the first turn. The player who finishes deploying first gains a
+1 to their roll (This roll cannot be rerolled with a command point).
The Beta Targeting Characters Update rule will be used
