First Sunday of Advent to stand before the Son of Man

This is our hope. This is why we get up in the morning. Not for the drudgery of this world, but for the chance to live with God in heaven in everlasting ecstasy. We are given little glimpses of what could happen in heaven when we lift our voices in the Holy Holy Holy, the conse-cration of the Mass and laughter of friends and family are all little vignettes of what heaven might be like. Let us get caught up in the Advent spirit today. Let us sweep out all the old dust and pollen of sin and grudg-es and get the house ready to bring home the new baby. Advent-preparing for the big event, the light of the world coming to earth-we loose the “Gloria” for 4 weeks but, gain so much on Christmas morning.
