Save Tigers ofSunderban

Tiger population in Sundarban is now less than 100!! If no initiative is taken then “The Royal Bengal Tiger” will disappear from Sundarban. On the other hand, in India’s famed Sundarban tiger population increases by almost a third.

So, the government as well as private organizations should come forward to save tigers of Sundarban at any cost. A long term plan should be taken into account for tiger conservation. I have pointed out some initiatives which will be helpful for tiger conservation.

1. Minimize conflict between humans and tigers so any situations that occur cannot be exploited by the poachers and the chance of revenge killings is minimized

2. Build partnerships with local people, who can help us monitor poaching activity

3. Raise political support for wildlife crime legislation in the area

4. Investigate poaching and wildlife crime to stop poachers before they enter the area

5. Patrol the area to ensure that poachers are caught

6. Remove all the snares being laid by poachers.

These aren't actions that are easy or simple to take. And the money needed to support this work reflects that.
