SVPISTM is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of
Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The aboriginal
institution to continue and play preeminent role in the field of
professional Textile Management Education. Preemptory global
competition and perception of a new appetite for trained,
dynamic and professional work in textiles industry gave birth to
this Institute.
Established in the year 2002, SVPISTM has been playing a
catalytic role in sensitizing and professionalizing the textiles
industry, by creating successful professionals, who distinguish
themselves by their intellectual capital, commitment to
excellence and continuous development.

Transition in the present textiles industry with huge expansion,
needs the best management brains with technical synergy. With
changing time frame, the Institute has been taking pro-active
steps to adopt itself to the changing dynamics of the textiles
sector. The Institute is inculcating a thought-provoking interplay

work. Latest technologies are employed for effective delivery
and the curriculum emphasizes practice orientation, in the areas

SCHOOL OF TEXTILES
COURSES OFFERED
B.Sc. Textiles (3 years full time)
The degree programme is specifically tailored to fit the needs of
the international textile and clothing sector. In this course, the
students acquire an overarching knowledge about textile and
clothing technology as well as management practice. Applied
Science, Languages, Textiles and Management Subjects will be
dealt in the 3 year full time program. Students exchange
programs, internship, Industrial visits and business sessions are
the part of the program. Self-study topics, hands on training in
the conducive environment provides comprehensive learning
platform.
Eligibility
A pass in the Plus two examination or equivalent of any
recognized board in India with 60% marks (in Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology) for General category,
55% marks for OBC-NCL and 50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
In the case of candidates who have appeared for 12th standard
examination and whose result has not been declared at the time
of admission shall be eligible to apply for admission and such
candidates will be considered only for provisional admission.
He/she will have to clear the qualifying examination, failing
which the provisional admission will stand automatically
cancelled and entire fee will be forfeited.

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT COURSES OFFERED MBA (Textile/Apparel/Retail) (2 years
full time)
MBA (Textile Management)
Applied learning experiences combined with classroom
instruction provide SVPITM students with the essential
technical and business skills needed to effectively manage and
lead the modern textile and technology management
organizations around the globe. Outdoor trainings and
internships do equip the students with adequate knowledge and
professional character required in their career.
MBA (Apparel Management)
MBA Apparel has been customized in the context of the
business need to provide the right education needed to enter the
Global Apparel Market, harness the efficiency of the apparel
sector, use India-centric innovation as a key differentiator, and
apply the learning to the emerging garment market situations in
general.
MBA (Retail Management)
MBA Retail is a master degree program designed to cross
fertilize learning by bringing the students from variety of
credentials. It’s a great option for an individual with avid interest
in sales markets, business diversifications, campaigning,
advertising, market research and market segmentation, etc.
Eligibility
A Graduate from any discipline recognized by UGC/AICTE with
a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and with a
minimum of 55% marks for General, 50% marks for OBC-NCL
and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates at graduate
level. A candidate who has appeared for any examination
and whose result has not been declared at the time of
admission, shall be eligible to apply for admission to the
MBA Programmes and such candidate, if selected, shall be
granted provisional admission and shall be required to
submit the result of the requisite examination on or before
the 30th day of September 2021, failing which the
candidate’s admission may be cancelled and entire fee will
be forfeited

Facilities
Admission procedure
Candidates are admitted to the above courses through
SVP Entrance Test conducted by SVPISTM or Central
Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) conducted
by CUTN.
For both UG and PG, admission shall be based on merit
through SVPET or CUCET.
SVPET (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Entrance Test) is
conducted by SVPISTM for admitting 60% of intake
for PG programme and 50% of intake for UG
programme.
CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance
Test) is conducted by CUTN for admitting 40% of
intake for PG programme and 50% of intake for UG
programme.
Candidates can make online application through
www.svpistm.ac.in or www.cucetexam.in
Rank list of the shortlisted candidates for both
CUCET and SVPET will be published in the institute
website.
Verification of eligibility, certificates will be done by
Admission department during counselling.
Candidates who submit the first semester fee and
original documents is considered admitted
provisionally by the institute.
RESERVATION
The seats reserved for SC / ST / OBC (Non Creamy)/
GEN-EWS/ Person with Disability (PWD) in each
programme are as under
Defence and Person with Disability is having horizontal
reservation of 5%.
Vertical reservation for UG and PG

REQUIREMENTS OF EACH CATEGORY ARE
AS FOLLOWS
1. SC/ST Candidates
Candidates applying under this reserved quota will have to
produce a Caste/Tribe certificate from the Competent
Authority of the respective States/Union Territories/
National Commission of Tribes.
2. OBC (Non-Creamy) Candidates
Candidates applying under this quota would have to
substantiate the caste and non-creamy layer requirement.
Candidates applying under this quota shall produce a caste
certificate from the Competent Authority certifying that
they belong to the non-creamy layer. The certificate should
be in favor of the candidate, issued not earlier than April
01, 2021
3. General (Economically Weaker
Section)
General category belonging to Economically Weaker
Section (GEN-EWS) will be a reserved category in which
the percentage of reservation is 10%. The benefit of
reservation will be given only to those General category
candidates who satisfy the condition given in the OM No.
20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019 issued by the
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of
Higher Education, and Government of India. The benefit of
reservation under Gen- EWS can be availed only after the
submission of an Income & Asset Certificate issued by a
Competent Authority
SYLLABUS FOR ENTRANCE TEST
B.SC TEXTILES
Part A - English, General Knowledge, Numerical
Ability
Part B - Multiple choice questions from plus two
physics, chemistry and mathematics or biology
syllabus.
MASTER IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
English/Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension,
verbal reasoning, syllogisms, analogies, antonyms
and synonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence
correction, idioms, etc.
Mathematics/Quantitative Ability: Number systems,
geometry, trigonometry, probability, permutation
combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work,
averages, percentages, profit and loss, quadratic and
linear equations, etc.
Data Interpretation: Interpretation and analysis of
data based on text, tables, graphs (line, area), charts
(column, bar, pie), Venn diagram, etc.
Logical Reasoning: Clocks, calendars, binary logic,
seating arrangement, blood relations, logical
sequence, assumption, premise, conclusion, linear
and matrix arrangement, etc.

Candidates will have to carry the original documents which
are given below on the day of counseling.

CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION
If a provisionally admitted student chooses to withdraw
from the programme of study in which he/she has taken
admission, the institute shall follow the following four-tier
system of refund of fee deposited by the students as per the
UGC regulations on “Remittance and Refund of Fees and
other student Centric Issues” which was approved by the
commission in 519th meeting held on 15th November
2016.
*(inclusive of course fees and non-tution fees but exclusive of
caution money and security deposit)
Fees shall be refunded by the institute to an eligible student
within 15 days from the date of receiving a written
application.
Admission Guidelines For NRI/Foreign
Nationals
Application of Foreign Nationals nominated by the Govt.
of India under scholarship scheme and direct admission
through self-financing scheme shall be entertained for
different Courses at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International
School of Textiles & Management. The Foreign nationals
need NOT appear in the Central Universities Common
Entrance Tests (CUCET) for admission; however, they
should have passed the equivalent Qualifying Examination
from an Indian or Foreign University/ Institution. Provision
to the extent of 10% of the total seats in each course on
supernumerary basis for Foreign Nationals is available.

Admissions Procedure
The Foreign Student, who wish to join any course, are
required to submit their application along with bio-data and
academic qualification on the prescribed format to
International student’s division, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
International School of Textiles & Management (email:
admissions@svpitm.ac.in). The respective Student (and
copy to concerned Embassy) will be informed about the
admission result.
Eligibility
Minimum eligibility qualifications for international
students will be the same as for Indian students for each
program mentioned in the Admission Prospectus. For more

The program on which eligibility is to be relied upon
must be from an Institute included in the list of the
Association of Indian Universities (AIU). New Delhi-
110002(http://www.aiuweb.org)
In case the University/Board is not included in the said
list, the candidate has to obtain and submit an
Equivalence Certificate to this effect from the
Association of Indian Universities
English translations of all transcripts, duly attested, are
to be submitted
Candidates applying from their own country should get
their transcripts attested by the concerned accredited
authorized government agency and also duly certified
by the Indian Embassy or Consulate
On being granted admission, all applicants should
produce their Students Visa within one month of
completion of admission formalities. In case of failure
to obtain a visa within the stipulated period, the
admission shall stand cancelled. A copy of this visa is
to be submitted in the Office of the International
Students Division, CUTN
Upon arrival in India every foreign student must register
with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer
(FRRO).
(I) At the time of submitting the application
All the Foreign nationals should submit their
application on prescribed format along with all relevant
documents:
Copy of the grade transcripts with the explanation of the
assigned grades including certificate of secondary
school, Diplomas and Degrees of examination passed.
Original Certificates should not be sent.
Attested copies of the syllabi and curricula of the
qualifying degree adopted in the Colleges/ Universities
attended with full details
Copy of the passport indicating your nationality and
personal details
Financial undertaking either a letter of recommendation
from the Govt. certifying that the fees will be paid by
the Govt. or a copy of the student’s bank statement
showing a balance of US $1000 (in case of the 2-yr post
graduate program).
That they have adequate knowledge of English as per
requirements of the Course
If English is not the first language or language of
medium of instruction (during secondary & tertiary
education), a pass in any of the following two tests will
be required:-
The test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL),
administered by the Educational Testing Service in the
US, in which scores of at least 580 overall and 4.0 in the
test of written English are required. The computer based
test requires scores of at least 240 overall and 4.0 in
essay writing. The internet based test requires scores of
at least 95 overall with a minimum score of 20 in
writing.
The International English Language Testing Service
(IELTS) test, administered by the British Council, in
which scores of 6 in each section and an overall score
of 6.5 are required
Test scores more than two years old will not be accepted
for consideration
(II) At the time of admission
They have valid Residential permit in India granted for
studies /Student Visa/Research Visa for the prescribed
duration of the concernedCourse.
They fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements
Candidates must submit medical fitness certificate duly
verified by the Ministry/Agencies.
Medical Insurance (medical insurance policy along with
an evacuation clause (wherever mandatory) for
admission and also to continue the same during the
entire tenure of their studies. It may also be noted that
medical insurance is required only at the time of
admission, and is not mandatory at the time of
application. An evacuation clause enables a student to
claim reimbursement from the insurance agency for
his/her evacuation from the country, where he/she is
studying, in case he/she has to be sent back to his/her
country due to medical reasons)
The Degrees / Certificates of the candidates must
be recognized and approved by the Association
of Indian Universities (AIU) / Commonwealth
Universities/ International Association of
Universities (IAU) as equivalent to the
corresponding Indian Degrees /Certificates
The inter-se merit among the applicants of
various foreign nationals will be decided by the
institute, which shall be deemed as final
All the eligible foreign nationals are required to
fill up the Registration Form prescribed by the
institute at the time of admission.
SHORT-TERM CERTIFICATE COURSE
1) Course Title: Medical Textile
Management
Course Objectives
The objective is to make students understand the
importance of medical textiles in today’s market. This
course will encourage the students to choose medical
textiles as a career option by enhancing their knowledge in
production, technology, regulative and commercial aspects
of medical textiles.
