GENERAL NOTES FOR RCC CONSTRUCTION WORK
A. GENERAL
1. THE NOTES IN THIS DRAWING SHALL BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL RELEVANT DRAWING PERTAINING TO THE BRIDGE.
2. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, ALL DIMENSIONS IN MILLIMETER (mm) AND ALL LEVELS ARE IN METER (m). DIMENSIONS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED AND ONLY WRITTEN DIMENSION ARE TO BE FOLLOWED.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL CHAINAGES, REDUCED LEVELS, COORDINATES AND DIMENSIONS BEFORE START OF THE WORK. INCASE OF ANY DISCREPANCY, THE MATTER SHALL BE BROUGHT TO NOTICE OF THE ENGINEER.
4. ABUTMENTS OF THE BRIDGE IS DESIGNED AS PER IRC - 21 & IS 456 USING MIDAS CIVIL.
5. LOADING: CLASS 24R AS PER IRC.
B. CONCRETEUNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED IN THE DRAWINGS OR DIRECTEDBY THE ENGINEER, CONCRETE GRADE SHALL BE AS PER THE RELATED SECTIONOF CONTRACT DOCUMENT PARTLY REPRODUCED AS BELOW :

2. SCHEDULLING OF BAR IS DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ISO 4066:2000.
3. MINIMUM LAP LENGTH OF REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE CONFORM TO AASHTO/2007. IF 50% OF REINFORCEMENT IS TO BE SPLICED PROVIDE CLASS B AND FOR 100% SPLICING PROVIDE CLASS C AS SHOWN BELOW:

4. RC RETAINING WALL, RRM WALL, AND GABION WALLS ARE PROVIDED AS RECOMMENDED BY SSI REPORT. HOWEVER THE QUANTITY MENTIONED IN BoQ WILL VARY AS PER THE ACTUAL REQUIREMENT AT THE SITES. THE QUANTITY OF RC RETAINING MENTIONED IN BoQ IS ONLY FOR ONE WALL OF LENGTH (7 MTRS) AND HEIGHT (6.5 MTRS) BUT ACTUAL REQUIREMENT AT SITE WILL BE MORE AS TENTATIVELY AS SHOWN IN THE DRAWINGS. MOREOVER THE THE HEIGHT OF THE WALL MAY VARY AT UPSTREAM AND DOWN STREAM SITE OF BRIDGE. SIMILARLY THE QUANTITY WORK OUT FOR RRM IS ONLY FOR LENGTH (13 MTRS) AND HEIGHT (5.11 MTRS) AT RIGHT BANK AND LENGTH (6.5 MTRS) AND HEIGHT (5.622 MTRS) AT LEFT BANK. THE QUANTITY OF RC RETAINING MENTIONED IN BoQ IS ONLY FOR ONE WALL OF LENGTH (7 MTRS) AND HEIGHT (6.5 MTRS) BUT ACTUAL REQUIREMENT AT SITE WILL BE MORE AS TENTATIVELY AS SHOWN IN THE DRAWINGS. MOREOVER THE THE HEIGHT OF THE WALL MAY VARY AT UPSTREAM AND DOWN STREAM SITE OF BRIDGE. SIMILARLY THE QUANTITY WORK OUT FOR RRM IS ONLY FOR LENGTH (13 MTRS) AND HEIGHT (5.11 MTRS) AT RIGHT BANK AND LENGTH (6.5 MTRS) AND HEIGHT (5.622 MTRS) AT LEFT BANK. AS RECOMMENDED IN SSI REPORT, THE QUANTITY MAY BE MORE THAN THAT MENTIONED IN THE BoQ. THE QUANTITY OF GABION WALL IS FOR 12 MTRS LENGTH OF 3 MTRS EACH TOWARDS DOWN STREAM AND UPSTREAM INCLUDING 6 MTRS IN FRONT OD ABUTMENT. THIS QUANTITY MAY ALSO CHANGE AS PER THE REQUIREMENT AT THE SITE.
5. FOR STABILITY OF ENTIRE SLOPE AT RIGHT BANK OF THE RIVER, THE RECOMMENDATION OF SSI REPORT WILL HAVE TO BE IMPLEMENTED.
6. AS RECOMMENDED IN SSI REPORT THE RIVER BOTTOM AND SIDES NEEDS TO BE DREDGED AND REMOVE ALL THE MATERIALS UP TO THE DEPTH OF NATURAL BED LEVEL OF REQUIRED LENGTH ON BOTH UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM SIDES OF BRIDGE AXIS LINE TO ALLOW UNHINDERED FLOW IN THE CHANNEL.
