Research Questionnaire Results

I decided that because many of the people that answered my questionnaire were aged 14-18, I would focus on that age bracket, and aim the magazine at these people.

The majority of people that answered the questionnaire were female. I had already decided to aim the magazine towards women, but include some male influences.

All of these interests and hobbies will feature in the magazine in some way or another. There are other hobbies that respondents added in such as art and crafts that will also feature.

This helped me decide on whether or not to create a music and culture magazine or just focus on a music genre magazine.

From this I decided I would release the magazine every month.

Knowing how much people would be willing to pay was very useful. I decided on £3.50, because although less people were willing to pay that amount, I would still need to cover the costs of printing, etc.

People’s choices of music were quite evenly spread. Although Rock was the most popular choice, I have decided to go with Indie music. It is something I enjoy and will easily be able to talk about and discuss. However sub-genres such and Indie Rock and Indie Pop will also feature.

This also helped with the culture side of the magazine. I wanted to know if readers would be interested in what was happening around the world to feature in this section.

I found these results very helpful in creating a basis for my target audience. However there are a few things I would change about it if I were to do it again. I would add more in depth questions about the people in general such as their social class, whether they’re students or working and more on their personal tastes. I would also try and send it out to more people, because although I did manage to get a huge response, the answers were quite varied and I think that with more respondents the answers would have become more specific and easier to analyse.
