• HSUPA activation requires a "fixed pool" of 8 CE when activating the feature.

• Depending on the total amount of free available CE (#licenses and installed HW capacity),the traffic load, BTS Resource Manager can dynamically allocate additional BB resources for HSUPA.

• A max. of 160CE can be utilized by HSUPA. In case of conflict with R99 RT or NRT traffic needs, BTS Resource manager will reduce the amount of BB resources available for HSUPA.

• Each user can reach max 2.0 Mbps

• Please Note that HSUPA requires HSDPA for DL.

• In addition to the CE consumption for HSDPA and HSUPA activation, 1 CE for signaling is required per user.

• Note: Softer HO overhead is included in the table, similarly as with Rel99 DCH

Baseband Capacity & HSUPA

• Capacity is reserved for HSUPA in Cluster Fraction (= 1 RAKE) steps on need basis.

• DSP RM in master HSUPA Cluster (WSPC / FSPA) request new RAKE for HSUPA and BTS RM (TCOM) gives it if possible.

• BTS RM can request RAKE back from HSUPA if that is needed for DCH traffic.

•Minimum capacity reserved for HSUPA is 8 CE. In that case only HSUPA MAC-e is active in Codec. 0 RAKE is reserved for HSUPA -> 0 HSUPA users.

• WN4.0 at maximum 2 WSPC / FSPA for HSUPA. Slave WSPC / FSPA CF (RAKEs) are reserved after Master WPSC / FSPA all three CF (RAKEs) have been reserved for HSUPA.

• Operator can define minimum HSUPA reserved capacity to have guaranteed service level.

• HSUPA requires HSDPA for DL. However associated DCH UL/DL is needed also for HSPA user.

the existence if Diplexers/Triplexers is to be defined for two reasons:

- the additional loss is to be considered by the BTS for correct signal gain.

Planned commissioning is most simple and preferred commissioning procedure. Configuration is planned before commissioning either in NetAct planning tools or in the file mode of BTS Site Manager.Planned commissioning steps during commissioning• 1. Start SEM – task selection view appears• 2. Local connection to Site• 3. Select commissioning View and Planned commissioning• 4. Browse Site Commissioning File that contains both BTS & TRS

files for Site• 5. Press Next -> EM validates files and downloads them to the Site.

Site reset is given after download• 6. After successful download/reconnection user can perform

commissioning test and finally save commissioning reports into disk.
