DECEMBER 2, 2012REV KAY CAROLINO

MARIKINA FOURSQUARE GOSPEL CHURCH

Created ToBecomeLike Christ

“For from the very beginning God decided that those who came to Him—and He knew

who would—shouldbecome like His Son.”

Romans 8:29

God wants you to becomeGODLY

notGOD.

He wants you to develop HisCHARACTER

in you.

God’s third purpose or plan for your life

is:TO BECOME LIKE

CHRIST.

It is God’s will for you

to

GROW UP,

not just

GROW OLD.

“God wants us to grow up…like Christ

IN EVERYTHING!”

Ephesians 4:15

There is a process:

DISCIPLESHIP!

This takes a lifetime!

THROUGH THEBIBLE

THROUGHPEOPLE

How?

In ALL things, God works for the GOOD for those WHO

LOVE HIM, WHO HAVE BEEN CALLED according to HIS

PURPOSE.

Romans 8:28

1.

God uses TROUBLEto teach us to TRUST Him.

TO BE BETTER AND NOT BITTER!

Three Unexpected Tools

TROUBLES or TRIALS are

not designed to HURT us,

they are designed to HELP

us.

God allows troubles to

happen to STRETCH our

faith.

“…troubles produce patience. And patience produces character..and

character produces hope.”

Romans 5:3-4

The goal of life is not

COMFORT.

Every problem has a

PURPOSE!

“They came to a garden called Gethsemane and Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Sit here while I pray.’…

DISTRESS and ANGUISH came over Him, and HE said, “The SORROW in MY HEART is so great that it almost

CRUSHES me.”

Mark 14:32-34

You’ve got to trust God

COMPLETELY

even when things look

terrible!

“Father,” He said, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from

Me. YET I WANT YOUR WILL, NOT MINE.”

Mark 14:36

Sharing of Testimonies. Share to somebody how a big

problem in your life has helped you grow in your spiritual

walk…

Application

Next time you get into troubles, don’t just ask, “why is this

happening?”, say:

“God is teaching me to trust Him. He is giving me the

opportunity to trust Him.”
