RESULTS OF COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
Choosing the right content is key. Good content will always win over anything else. Women In Sport delivers news stories, articles, advice and success stories - All of these are shareable across social media.
We have seen that site with poor design have a high page rank. This can be contributed by a number of factors including age of domain and number of backlinks. Since our site will be brand new we would have to ensure on page SEO is meticulous, with a view to develop a link building strategy. This can be aided by sponsored social media posts and google ads.
Clear navigation and sign posting was demonstrated on the Women In Sport website. The experience was streamlined which leads to a point, at that stage the user is usually confronted with the call to action, in most cases this is to share an article or download a document.
Futsal UK and Women In Sport have both opted for a full width flat design. These sites are the visually most appealing of all the competitors we’ve seen - And this could ensure repeat users.

03. Bring TogetherLocal football brings people together of all ages, genders and races. Football is truly for the whole family.
04. SocialFootball is a social game, but not just in person, football is the highest trending sport on social media in the world.
05. PassionPeople that are involved with football speak about football with great passion. Loyalty to their club is lifelong.
06. ConnectFootball connects people in a way that other sports do not. It’s a game of between two to 24 player and countless spectators.
Football is our greatest passion
‹#›UX Design: 383 Project Presentation Page:
THE CONCEPT #GETINVOLVEDWE WILL ALSO FOCUS ON PROMOTING FOOTBALL AS A SPORT PROVIDING HEALTH BENEFITS
Passion / Emotive Human Element Social Media Call To Action
We have established the
football is a game of passion,
therefore it’s important for us to
use emotive and supportive
language in our messaging.
01Our concept will focus on
human stories of overcoming
personal circumstances to
achieve their dream of
becoming a football player, or
coach, or referee - We shall aim
to do this with video content as
well as success stories.
02Football is highly shared online.
Women’s football has gained
traction recently due to a social
media campaign #wecanplay
therefore if we get across the
need for people to get involved,
we can emulate their success is
driving participation.
03Our user experience must
culminate in a call to action. For
instance this could be to find a
club, or follow us on social
media. The key here is to get
people talking about grassroots

MEET JOE DREAMER13 Years Old | Secondary School Pupil | Big Soccer Forum
Loves playing football
Wants to improve skills
Wants to play for county
Joe is a pupil at Summer Hill High School. He loves a kick about with friends
and play during school dinner times, after school and on weekends. His
school doesn’t have a football team, however there is a football club in the
area. He is a Manchester United fan and his favourite football player is
Wayne Rooney. He would love to play football at a high level in the future,
and is dreaming about joining a football team and becoming a top player.
GOALS:
Joe wants to join his local football club but doesn’t want to join alone; he’s
thinking about asking his friends to join too. Joe also wants to work on his
short game and skills therefore has been searching online for ways to
improve these attributes. Joe uses Big Soccer Forum to get most of his
football advice, and visits BBC Sport for football news. Due to his age, he’s
not interested in lots of textual information, instead he’s more susceptible to
video guides and professional advice from football personalities. He is
desperate to find out what he has to do to standout and be noticed.

MEET JOSH INJURY25 Years Old | Support Community Officer | Big Soccer Forum
Suffered from a knee injury
Still wants to play football
Considers becoming a coach
Josh was a county level football player until he sustained a knee injury,
which resulted in him having to give up the sport. Josh wanted to take up
the sport again at non-league level, but is scared he’d do even more damage
to his knee. While researching how to overcome a football injury, he came
across a forum post on coaching. He’s now giving this some serious
thought as he feel he still has a lot to offer the game, but would like to know
more information.
GOALS:
Josh still wants to be involved in football. He considers becoming a
qualified football coach so he can help the club that that gave him the
opportunity to play for his county. He is looking for courses in his area to
gain necessary qualifications.

MEET MICHELLE PARENT42 Years Old | Accountant| Mumsnet
Concerned about her son’s disability
Looking for an advice
Looking for a local team
Michelle has 2 sons – Mark (11) and Andy (9). Andy is slightly autistic and is
having trouble making friends at school, Michelle is getting increasingly
worried about this. Mark and Andy are both interested in football, however
have never joined a sporting club. Michelle found an advert on Mumsnet for
Tesco Skills (5 to 11) and she’s keen to sign up her children as she believes
it would be great for their fitness and would help Andy integrate with other
children and build his confidence.
GOALS:
Michelle’s sons would love to make new friends and learn how to play
football. She would like to help them, so she is looking for a local football
team that her sons could play for. She is not sure if Andy can play with Mark
due to his disability, so she wants to talk to the club first to find out if they
can accommodate this. However before making any direct enquiries, she is
first asking advice from other mums on Mumsnet to get a general
consensus about Tesco Skills.
