HOW DO YOU PAYIntroduction: In this unit

we will find the vocabulary that we can use when we need to pay a bill.

CASH ONLY

BUSINESS ONLY ACCEPTS CASH AS A METHOD OF PAYMENT

EXAMPLE: if you want to buy something and the store lost its energy supply,

you have to pay only with cash.

CHARGE CARD

Is a small card from a bank or shop that allows you to buy items and pay for

them later

Example, you can use it to pay a lot of things without cash. Charge card is an international device that is used to buy in USD, Euros, Pesos, Soles, e.t.c , and then you can pay the ammount in your

local money.

CHECKING ACCOUNT

Is a type of bank account you can

withdraw money using checks

Example, when you need to pay something

that require a lot of money, this payment option is safer than a

cash retirement

CREDIT CARD

Is a small card that allows you to buy things and pay for them later

Example, Credit card is the best device to pay if you are traveling away your country

DEBIT CARD

Is a small card that takes money out of a bank account

Example, This card helps you to pay with virtual money that you have

charged into it

IDENTIFICATION

Is a document that proves who you are

early identification of a disease can prevent death and illness

Example, when you lose your ID, you should have report it immediately to a

migratory agent or a police

METHOD OF PAYMENT

Is way to pay for items, which includes cash, charge cards and checks

Example, The next step to pay my online purchase is to choose the method of

payment

Is a method of payment that uses money from a checking account

Example, Let me sign this personal check to validate the transaction

Is a card that proves who you are and has a photograph of you on it

Example, i was a child when my photo ID was shoted

Occurs when someone buys or sells something

Example, It is a pleasure to do a transaction with honest people

Are used by travelers instead of cash they are printed with a set amount

Example, The last traveler`s check is insufficient to pay the hotel

Introduction: In this unit we will find the vocabulary that we can use when getting money.

ATM

(Automatic teller machine)is a machine that you use to access and whithdraw money from your bank account.

Example, The volumes of withdrawals from ATMs were higher than expected from the first days onwards.

Banks

Are places where people keep their money

Example, i have to open an account in the national bank

Branch

Is an office that is part of a bigger company.

Example, The consultant attended me in the lobby because the branch was temporally closed

Business hours

A company business hours are the times that the company is open

Example, the business hour in my job is extensive, i arrive too late to my home

Electronically

To send something electronically is to send something using electric methods

Example, I don’t use cash when I buy electronically via amazon

PIN

Personal identification number): a pin is a secret number that you use to access a bank account using an ATM.

Example, I can not forget my pin, it is my only one resource to make a retirement of cash (withdraw)

Service charge

A service charge is money that you pay to receive a service

Example, I buy a service charge card to give you a present because I do not remember your t-shirt size

Wire transfer

A wire transfer is a way to send money electronically.

Example, I believe that the wire transfer has been accepted

To withdraw is to take money out of your bank account.

Example, I withdraw a little quantity of cash because this country is dangerous to walk

OFFICE.Introduction: In this unit we will find the vocabulary that we can use when we go to exchange money.

Buy – back

Buy – back: a buy – back is a policy. A business buys backs something they previously sold you.

Example, I think that buy back is an excellent method to buy or bring a service

Commission

A commission is the amount of money a business charges for some types of service

Example, The last week I sold a house and my commission was awful

CONVERT

To convert is to change money from one

currency to another.

Example, if I convert Colombian

pesos to USD, my change is

less than if I convert to soles

Currency

Is a word for you from a particular place, like the euro and the dollar.

Example, In the mall, the currency exchange office is closed

Is a place where you can change money for another country´s money

Example, The currency echange office has the less value today than the bank

Exchange rate

The exchange rate is the rate at which money from one country can be change for the money from another country.

Example, Today the USD exchange rate increased because the oil is more expensive than yesterday

Local currency

Is the money from the country you are in.

Example, The local currency of Croatia is called Kuna

Mininum charge

Is the least amount of money you can pay for something.

Example, I bough the concert pass by the minimum price because I payed early but my credit card did not accept the payment, its minimum charge transaction is from 10 USD.

Rate

Is a measure of how much you pay for something

Example, The company increased its productivity rate around 25% more than the last year

Receipt

Is a record of a something.

Example, I keep all receipts because, if I want to demand , i will need it

A release from makes a person not responsible if something bad happens.

Example, The doctor lended me a pen to write my signature in the release paper before the surgery

Introduction: In this unit we find the vocabulary that can be found in the staff kitchen.

MEET THE

KITCHEN STAFF

BEHIND THE SCENESSomethings happens behind the

scenes it takes places in private

and not in public.

Example: behind the scenes of a

film it takes place in private and

not in public.

BUTCHERIs person whose job is to cut or sell

meat.

Example: the butcher offers the

best meat.

CALLERIs a person whose job is to deliver

the food order to the kitchen.

Example: CALLER delivery orders in

the kitchen.

HEAD CHEF Is in charge of the kitchen and is

responsible for creating the menu,

cooking, ordering supplies and

overseeing the other workers.

responsible in his restaurant.

LINE COOKWorks at one food station,

preparing and cooking one part of a

meal or a specific type of food. The

sous chef is usually the one cook’s

boss.

Example: LINE COOK preparing all

kinds of food.

be cooked.

Example: A prep cook does not

head chef and often assists the
