What has been achieved?

• Surgical dermatology service provided at a local health centre.

“It was much more convenient having my surgery done at the Health Centre rather than at hospital, I was dealt with quickly and saw the same Doctor throughout my treatment and appointments”.

“I would like to congratulate you on your new Dermatology Department. I felt more comfortable in a situation I knew with my own Doctor, I was in and out quickly and parking was much more convenient”.

Issues

• Government policy and re-organisation

• VAT

• Pensions

• Indicative budget

• Cultural change

The Future

• Continue to build on governance model

• Increase number of locally accessible health services

• Extend hours of opening of local surgeries

• Increase in amount of care offered in the community

• Explore partnership working with new service providers

• Employ own staff

• Have a real budget
