Specifications

• Four minutes is the shortest presentation acceptable

• 12 minutes is an appropriate limit on the length of your presentation

• There is no minimum number of gestures, although you should not hold your cue cards with both hands for the entire presentation.

• You must make sustained eye contact (more than a glance) with the audience on at least 4 separate occasions.

• You do not HAVE to use technology or any form of assistance in your presentation. However, if you choose too, any video clips etc. they will not be counted as part of your presentation duration. 

• You must also submit a written copy of your research

• You must also include a Bibliography of the texts you have used

Final TipsPrepare well. Rehearse your presentation. Know all your quotes etc. so they sound fluent in your presentation

Open strong and close with something memorable

If you make a mistake keep going, you are the only person who knows it was a mistake

Don’t talk too fast or too slow

Build tension wherever possible by using pauses, volume changes & gestures.

Relate your points to your audience if possible
