Power Point vs. Chalk Board
The most important task for teachers
today is to get their students’ attention
and to keep it.
This can be challengingwith nothing but words on a chalkboard
combined with simple discussion
The great thing about power point is that the process is simpler than the finished product would have you thinkCreating a Power Point presentation is something that students at all levels can both appreciate and create
• Using a Smart Board teachers and students
can work together from most computers that are equipped with programs
such as Microsoft PowerPoint which guides
you through creating your power point
presentation• Students can prepare text
for pages in a word document and paste them
into the pages of the power point
• Together, with their teacher they can add things like
clipart, sounds and movie clips as well as hyperlinks
As they watch their collaboration
come together before their eyes the
enthusiasm and energy in the
classroom will be notable
No matter what you’re teaching…
Power Point brings
Your lesson
To life!
Power Point vs. Book Report
Power Point vs. Book Report
Power Point is a great way for students to bring the books they’ve read to life by highlighting the points that stood out to them and starting a path that leads to countless further information on the
book itself, others like it and/or by the same authorCheck out some great 6th grade Power Point book reports at

Microsoft Power Point is only one basic Power Point program and yet effects like these that are available through it alone are
numerous and fun and bring any presentation to life:Design Templates to personalize the appearance
Clip art, sound clips & movie clips (from “Insert” drop down menu)
Animation Schemes for special effects on text and transitions
Organization charts, diagrams and graphs with moving parts

• A great way to wrap up the year is to have
students contribute to a graduation montage.
• Students can choose two or three songs and
probably over 100 pictures and video clips
to create a keepsake Power Point
presentation that they can keep forever and
share with friends online or on their own
computer at home.
