Program: AutoCADTotal Area: 550,000 sfI was working on this project for about one month. This is the first time I was working on construction documents and learned a lot from this experience. I mainly contrib-uted to CD-level floor plans and material schedule on Journal Square in Jersey City.

Program: AutoCAD, RhinoModel Material: Museum Board, Plexi, FoamI was working on constrcting physical models. I used Rhino to build a digital model, unrolled surfaces of the buidlings, imported these surfaces to AutoCAD and then sent them to the lasercutter.

In 2013 summer semester, we focused on tectonic language. In this project, I utilized “offseting” and “overlaping” language to develope my design. As the contour changes construction members offset and overlap to create space which flows gradually down the hill.

By using the local vernacular of Haikou, Hinan’s ancient buildings, while implementing their design strengths in a modern manner we maintained a strong cultural relationship and built upon the past.
