In 2013 summer semester, we focused on tectonic language. In this project, I utilized “offseting” and “overlaping” language to develope my design. As the contour changes construction members offset and overlap to create space which flows gradually down the hill.

Program: AutoCAD, SketchupWhile developing the master plan, landscape and schematic design of a commercial area for a mixed-use developement district we continually referenced local historic structures. By using the local vernacular of Haikou, Hinan’s ancient buildings, while implementing their design strengths in a modern manner we maintained a strong cultural relationship and built upon the past.
