The project was born for theopen competition“I’m a city changer” - WORLDURBAN FORUM 6/NEAPLES 2012.This residential building project is part of a wide regenerationprogram of a highly degradedindustrial area.This solution reaches the sustai-nability through the reductionof energy consumption and thehigh anti-seismic safety.

IDENTITY & CONNECTIONare the main features of the new square inside the Calitri old town centre.Identity and connection between the place, the landscape, the views and the elements in the square widening.Visual, spatial, dynamic and static continuity through few and essential new elements: the wall, the pavement, the ramp and the covering.

The square changes its look during the day showing two side of the same space. The daily and nightly perception shifts thanks to play of lights and images projections.

IDENTITY & CONNECTIONChia'nett'work is not only a physical project. Connecting the dichotomy between real and virtual places, the project becomes a link between the pass of the old town centre and the nowadays communication system.An artistic installation, made up of optical fi ber, puts Calitri in the middle of a net of cities. The multimedia wall with a projection screen, a smaller interactive touch- screen and a QR code (link to CalitriSupernova Portal) compose the connectivity and technological system.

The Slaughterhouse is composed of pure volumes:

- regularly aggregated- organized around a central space (courtyard)- enclosed by a stone fence

the buildingspure volumes aggregated regularly

the courtspace surrouded by buildings or walls, it separetes out “in” and “out”the domestic gardensmall piece of land enclosed by wallsthe local stoneused to cover outside spacesthe walldefensived and separeted element, realized in drywall

the project is like a big fence enclosed by high walls, open toward the sky and the see

the drawing of agricultural area is the pattern of the design of the space and the paths toward the see
