Kobonal Water Project
The appeal for the support of the Kobonal Water Project in Haiti has
received (as of January 20th) donations of $ 9, 215. 57 toward the goal of
$14,636. The progress of the appeal may be followed on the
thermometer display in the main vestibule. Our commitment to this
project is a response to Pope Francis’s exhortation, “Laudato Si” and a
critical need for clean fresh water crisis in parts of the world and urged
all to help in addressing this basic human need. Our Christian faith calls
us to accept responsibility for protecting the blessings of creation and to
assist in ensuring that those blessings are available to all. Cross Catholic,
who was the sponsor of the “No Room at the Inn” program that we
participated in last year, is offering us this opportunity to support the
clean water needs of these communities in Haiti. I invite parishioners to
participate to the extent that they are able, to use the giving envelopes
available at the church exits and to continue to contribute their bottle
receipts to the project. A priest representing Cross Catholic will be with
us the weekend of February 5th which would provide us with opportunity
to report on the success of the appeal.

late January. Email Kathleen amausdental@gmail.com.

Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time
To experience the peace which Christ promises we must shed our
grudges, jealousy and feelings of being misunderstood, unappreciated or
ignored. Peace and anger don’t mix. Today’s gospel warns, if you want
peace in your heart and home, get rid of your anger. Anger is too costly.
