Most deserts are in the hottest countries of the world, but some deserts are cold.

Some deserts are covered with sand, others with stones and rocks.

Snakes, lizards, gerbils and beetles hide in the shade of rocks. Camels live there.

Deserts are so dry that very few plants can grow there.

Many people live in Oases and Semi-desert areas.

water under the ground.
