After finishing of waterproofing layer, the Pluvia outlet can be used as an outlet for temporary drainage. For this application the protection cover has a small opening which can be opened through removing of the label.

If flat roofs are covered with slaps instead of gravel, ensure that only plastic bound slaps are use wherever possible. The outlets must be protected against sintering if the slaps containing cement are used. This protection should take the form of a bed of gravel approx. 1 m x 1 m in extend around the inlet.
Reason, the rainwater washes the lime out of the cement slaps, this lime is flushed into the Pluvia pipe system. Lime deposits on the inner wall of the pipe reduces slowly the diameter.

Flat roofs and gutters have to be serviced regularly. This requires the removal of any leaves, dirt or plants to avoid any blockage. This regular maintenance has to be done in accordance with the prevailing environmental conditions (weather, trees, etc. ) and has to include the cleaning of the Geberit Pluvia outlets and baskets.
In doing so, the cover basket has to be removed to enable access for the cleaning of the outlet element itself. The frequency of cleanings through the year has to be defined by the proprietor within the planned maintenance programme.
