Some key arterial segments are missing sidewalks (Meridian, 1st and 15th Ave).
¼ of the residential areas have sidewalks (south of NE 94th St).

Street lighting levels vary. Pedestrian feel exposed. Short walk signal – 3rd
Avenue NE & Northgate Way (8 sec to cross Northgate).
Long wait time – 1st Avenue NE & Northgate Way (70 sec wait to cross Northgate).
Some mid-block pedestrian refuges are needed at key locations.

Over 75% of arterials have sidewalks on both sides (benchmarks call for 90%).
Some sidewalk widths are not adequate.
Large trees obscure lighting but adequate overall.
