Highest Quality Blade Repair
Repair erosion, cracks, wrinkles, chips, paint/gel coat wear, delaminations, disbonds, lightning damage, lightning protection system failures, and structural issues
Maintain the structural integrity, aerodynamic performance and balance of the blades on all repairs
Coordinate with your schedule to minimize down time
Work with you to decide which defects need be repaired now and which defects can be repaired later
For major structural damage, we will coordinate with engineers to develop the proper repair procedure
Menu of Services: Blade Repair
Safe & Effective Uptower Access The Asmus Type IV Platform is designed for use
on utility-scale wind turbines for 360-degree access to the entire rotor blade, from tip to root.
Best-In-Industry Access System:
Rotate blades without de-rigging to access all 3 blades quickly
 32 ft/min ascent & descent
3 workers plus equipment can work up-tower, maximizing crew efficiency
Platform is suspended firmly against tower– work safely in high winds with no contact to blade (up to 11 m/s winds)
Compatible with all major wind turbine manufacturers in the USA
Eliminate the need for cranes to do blade inspections and repairs
For minor repair or inspections, we utilize the Spider 2m basket to provide quick set-up and access to blades
Up Tower Blade Repair

Importance of Quality Repairs The First Time
Previous repair done improperly using large amounts
of body filler and not sanded to blade contour causing
premature repair failure and poor blade aerodynamics
This previous repair work was spotted during
telephotography inspection. The laminates were
improperly repaired resulting in cracking after just 2
years of operation.
Menu of Services:
Blade Cleaning
• Up tower blade cleaning/inspection package:
• Pressure-wash the blades to rapidly deep clean the blade
Can improve power output up to 8% by improving blade aerodynamic efficiency
Provide detailed inspection report documenting anomalies and repair recommendations
Inspection and testing of lightning protection system, ensure proper grounding and drain holes are clear to prevent blow outs
Menu of Services:
Telephotography Inspection
• On Ground Telephotography Inspections:
• 3-4 turbines completed per day
Ideal for end-of-warranty or volume inspections on a rotating basis
Detailed report of findings with high quality images included
Blade/Nacelle/Hub failure inspection and analysis from safe distance
