Parking Lot A & B Renovation

Parking Lot A & B Renovation• Purpose: To repair

Parking Lots A & B, from the sub-base to the lot surface

• To be done in one phase to expedite completion

• Temp. ADA parking to be provided in Parking Lots C & D

• Projected time of project: Oct. 10 – Nov. 17th

• Bonham has an elevator that measures 44” deep x 80” wide

• The minimum requirement is 54” deep x 80” wide

Bonham Elevator Project• Purpose: To meet

ADA standards for existing elevator in Bonham building

• In addition, ADA accessible corridor will be constructed on 1st floor

• Status: In the design and planning stage

Decommissioning of Verde

Decommissioning of Verde

• Purpose: Verde building was found structurally unsound for classroom use; decision was made to decommission the building for safety reasons

• In the process of contracting an outside vendor to demolish and remove the building; Material suitable for recycling will be saved and dealt with appropriately

Continuation of Landscape Lighting Project

Continuation of Landscape Lighting Project

• Currently in Phase IV of the project• Purpose: To provide safety on campus

through better lighting, as well as reduced energy consumption

• Will add (4) additional fixtures at Westside Medina (lakeside) for better illumination

• This phase should be the final phase for the foreseeable future

Wichita Restrooms Renovation

Wichita Restroom Renovation• Purpose: To improve the

overall aesthetic condition of (4) Wichita restrooms

• Restroom fixtures to be removed and replaced, as well as tile

• Will match the new campus standard, as seen in the Peco Expansion

Completion of Phase II Storefront Replacement

Completion of Phase II Storefront Replacement

• Replaced 79 door openings; Approx. 30 doors remain to be replaced

• New doors more energy efficient; Allow less UV penetration than previous doors, and seals contain inside air better

Spillway Renovation Project

Spillway Renovation Project

• Purpose: To fix separation in several joints in the spillway culverts, causing the formation of sinkholes after heavy rains

• Will utilize high-pressure grout injection to realign the sections of concrete pipes

• Pipe sections will be sealed from the inside after realignment

• Minimal impact on surrounding area expected; Draining of lake not necessary

El Paso Walkway Renovation

El Paso Walkway Renovation

• Purpose: To eliminate suspected exterior leak origins above El Paso

• Joint sealant removed from Crockett/Alamito breezeway to Fannin/Lavaca breezeway; Replaced with high-impact, flexible, traffic-grade joint sealant

• Patchwork made on any areas where aggregate spalling was more than 1” deep

Phase III Carpet Replacement

Phase III Carpet Replacement

• Purpose: To replace dated and damaged carpet in Medina & Bonham buildings

• Will be completed through the help of a District SAR

Landscape Conversion Plan

Landscape Conversion Plan• Purpose: To increase

sustainable landscape by 20% over the next two years

• Will reduce water consumption, fertilizer application, labor, and carbon footprint

• Will include various wildflower mixes and native turfgrasses

Removal and Relocation of Thunderduck Planters

Removal and Relocation of Thunderduck Planters

• Purpose: To increase flow during high-traffic periods in Thunderduck Hall

• Repurposed planters to (4) different locations on campus

• Planters now contain native, low-maintenance plant material

New Fleet Decals

• Purpose: To update vehicle fleet decals

• Mono-chromatic graphics to be used to prevent sun damage / fading

• Similar to graphic to the left, but either all black, or all white, die-cut vinyl

Utility Bridge Project• REPLACE LEAKING HVAC

(HEATING VENTILATION & AIR CONDITIONING) PIPING THAT TRAVELS UNDER THE LAKE NEAR PECOS

• TEMPORARY SOLUTION WAS TO INSTALL 165 FEET OF EIGHT (8) INCH PIPING ACROSS THE NORTH BRIDGE TO PROVIDE HEATING TO THE EASTSIDE

• INSTALL NEW BRIDGE NORTH OF EXISTING PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

• RE-OPEN EXISTING BRIDGE FOR FOOT AND UTILITY VEHICLE TRAFFIC

New Custodial Cleaning Schedule

• T-DUCKS IN ROW #101 – CUSTODIAL SERVICES SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS TO ACTIVE BUDGET SAVINGS

• MONDAY – THURSDAY. TRASH AND RECYCLING CONTAINERS SHOULD BE PLACED OUTSIDE OF OFFICE DOORS WHEN THE LAST OCCUPANTS LEAVE. THE DEEP-NIGHT CUSTODIAL CREW WILL EMPTY THE CONTAINERS AND PLACE THEM BACK OUTSIDE OF OFFICES

• FRIDAY- CONTAINERS SHOULD BE LEFT INSIDE OFFICES FOR TRASH AND RECYCLING TO BE REMOVED BY WEEKEND CLEANING CREW

• THE WEEKEND CUSTODIAL CREW WILL CLEAN OFFICES AND EMPTY CONTAINERS

• ANNUAL COST SAVINGS OF $102,000

New Seasonal Temperature Settings for Summer & Winter

• WINTER SETTING OF 72°F WILL COMMENCE ON DECEMBER 1 AND END ON APRIL 1

• SUMMER SETTING of 76°F WILL COMMENCE ON APRIL 2 AND END ON NOVEMBER 30

• ESTIMATED COST SAVINGS OF 20% TO 30% OF UTILITY BUDGET

Oncor Incentive Rebate Program

• ONCOR PRESENTED DCCCD WITH REBATE CHECK OF $75,480 FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A HIGH EFFICIENCY (.541 KW/TON) CHILLER AT RICHLAND

• VICE CHANCELLOR OF BUSINESS AFFAIRS, ED DES PLAS, PRESENTED THE REBATE CHECK TO RICHLAND TO BE USED IN ENERGY REDUCTION PROJECTS

• RICHLAND WILL UTILIZE THE FUNDS TO ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING:

– Upgrade the main energy management system (EMS)– Install control system for exhaust fans, water coolers and electric hot water heaters– Replace old outdated equipment on air handling units– Purchase and install electrical and water monitoring devices– Install lighting and HVAC systems control points on EMS for Kiowa, Uvalde and Yegua

Halls– Upgrade HVAC controls for Bonham, Del Rio and Neches Halls

Light Harvesting on Campus• Through the use of photo sensors, light levels are automatically

adjusted to take into account ambient natural sunlight entering the building. Appropriate light levels are maintained and artificial lighting is dimmed when necessary.

• REPLACE FORTY-ONE (41) METAL HALIDE FIXTURES WITH LED IN PARKING LOTS U, V & W

• INSTALL FOUR (4) NEW LED LANDSCAPE LIGHTS BETWEEN MEDINA & DEL RIO

• REDUCE OUR ANNUAL CARBON FOOT PRINT BY 93.3 METRIC TONS OF CO²

• BASE YEAR – TOTAL TRASH SENT TO LANDFILL WAS 1,300,000 LBS. OR 650 TONS

• LAST YEAR- TOTAL TRASH SENT TO LANDFILL WAS 780,000 LBS. OR 390 TONS– 60 % OF OUR TRASH WAS DIVERTED FROM THE LANDFILL– REDUCTION IN DUMPSTER PICK-UP– REDUCTION IN DUMPSTERS– ANNUAL COST SAVINGS OF $5800
