Newmusicprojectsappeardaily;somegetoverlookedandnotgivenasecondthought.Thentherearethosethatcompletelyslipunderyourradarandyouaren’tawareofitexistencebutwhenit’sbroughttoyourattentionyou’relike“fuck,how’dInothearthis?”.Thisisthelatter.
ColeyVTheCreaturehasbeenputtingtogetherlyricsoverinstrumentationforafewyearsandhe’sdamngoodtoo.IfirstheardofhimathousepartyIwenttoawhilebackforthebirthdaypartyofafriendandhewasperformingtracksinthegroupKa‐Blam!withanotherMCTomCogger.Thematerialhewasputtingoutasaduowasdopebuthearinghimstandonhisownisawhole‘notherbeast,orcreatureinthiscase.TheDeathofCVcaughtmeoffguardbecauseI’veheardacoupletrackswithhimdoinghissolothing,butIwasneverexpectingafullprojecttodrop.ThisnewestprojectfromhimletsyouhearhimdowhatheisgoodatbutalsoprovidingthelistenerswithmoredepthintowhoTheCreatureisandwhoColeyVhasbecome.Thetapefeatures10tracks,alloriginalproductiondonebySubstanzDandeachonegoesinbeatwiseandwritingstyle.Hestickstowhatheknows:life,work,plantmatter,andusualanticsbutthewayhetellsusaboutthemisnothinglikeI’ve
