CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME TO KUIS First and foremost, the management of Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) would like to congratulate and welcome you to KUIS. Please follow the instructions given in this Registration Guidelines before you register at KUIS campus.
A. ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER
Applicants have to confirm their acceptance either by:

The offer is valid for the mentioned session only. Those who decline the offer with or without notice may apply for the next semester. Those who wish to defer their registration will have to inform the Admission Unit in writing.

C. IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS BEFORE REGISTRATION.
Application Procedures
Students who wish to apply to KUIS should submit 2 copies of International Students Application Form with the following documents:
i) Certified copies of academic transcript (with grading system reference) and
other supporting documents with English translation.
ii) Four (4) passport-size color photographs.
iii) One (1) copy of Identity Card
iv) Two (2) copies of International passport or other travelling documents. (all pages including blank pages must be photocopied on A4 size paper)
Visa and Student Pass
a. Visa Application
1. Upon confirmation of application, students are reminded to confirm whether they need visas or not prior to entrance to Malaysia at any of the following places:
i. Malaysian Embassy in the respective/nearby countries or ii. Malaysian Consulate in the respective/nearby countries iii. Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Immigration in the respective
countries.
2. Applicants from countries who need visa to enter Malaysia: i. Non-Commonwealth countries (countries never colonized by
the British such as Thailand and Indonesia). ii. Commonwealth countries such as the following
• India
• Pakistan
• Bangladesh
• Sri Lanka
• Nigeria iii. Countries with no agreement on visa with Malaysia.
3. If visa is needed, please bring your passport along with student pass
approval letter from the Malaysian Immigration Department (the student pass approval letter will be posted to you) for those who apply for a single entry visa at the Embassy or Malaysian Consulate in your country. You are required to contact the International International Section in KUIS via telephone, fax, letter or e-mail for any enquiries.

b. Student Pass Application
1. All international students must possess a Student Pass during their studies in KUIS. They are also required to submit their international passport with these documents to the officer at the International Section Counter during registration:

Original copy of the Conditional Offer Letter from KUIS Passport and shorten copy of the student pass by the previous institution/college/university. (must be valid for at least 1 month) Release letter with attendance report (signed by Chief Executive Officer from previous institution/college/university) Exam result from previous institution/college (certified by Chief executive officer from previous institution/college) Academic qualification from home country Medical check-up report
Note: Please be reminded that you are not allowed to make any initial payment or commence any classes until transfer application is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and student pass is approved by the Malaysia Immigration Department (JIM)
2. If you encounter any difficulty during the submission of all the documents, you are given 1 week upon registration to complete the relevant documents. Those who fail to submit all completed documents after 1 week of registration will be given a warning or be terminated from KUIS. 3. All new student pass applications will be forwarded to the Malaysia Immigration Department (JIM) Headquarters in Putrajaya. It will take at least 30 days for the JIM to issue the approval letters. Therefore all applicants should begin the application process at least a month before the registration date.

c. Airport Pick-up Service (For International Students only)
1. Approved Student Pass from the Malaysia Immigration Department (JIM) prior to the arrival at of the student KLIA/LCCT will be picked up by the university officer.
2. This service is not available to those who are on Social Visit Passes and who enter Malaysia via port entry other than KLIA/LCCT.
3. Those who enter Malaysia via KLIA and need a pick-up service must inform
the International Section a week in advance prior to arrival. Please avoid coming in on a non working day or very late at night as the University cannot guarantee there will be a university personnel available. Please send all the details via email to upa@kuis.gmail.com or fadzil@kuis.edu.my or call 03-89254251 ext 1105 or fax (+60) 3 89266706). Please inform us on the following items:-
• Departure date
• Flight No.
• Expected time of arrival in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)/ LCCT
4. Upon your arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), you will be
picked-up by a university officer who will assist you to make the immigration clearance. To avoid difficulties, students are advised to wait at the immigration area until the university officer has completed the clearance.
5. The student must prepare the following documents:
(a) Passport with Valid Entry Visa or (b) Original copy of Visa Approval Letter.
Important Note: The Immigration Officer WILL NOT release the student without the presence of the university representative to identify and acknowledge the student.

TERMS OF PAYMENT (for local students only)
a) All payments must be made via Malaysian Post Money Order or Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) bank draft or any local banks (an additional of RM0.50 must be paid together with the registration payment) under the name of KOLEJ UNIVERSITI ISLAM ANTARABANGSA SELANGOR.
b) Payment can also be made via any Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) branches using the bank-in slip before the registration day. Please bring along the copy of bank-in slip on the registration day. Payment can also be paid in two installments; first installment of RM500 must be paid before/on the registration day and the balance must be settled after the registration day. F. STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
All new students are required to stay in campus. Thus, KUIS is pleased to offer a variety
of housing options to fit the different needs of our students. Students have the options
either to stay in residence halls or apartment style housing. They can do so by filling out
the Qaryah Form and submitting it to the Residence Unit on registration day. For more

G. TA’ARUF WEEK
It is compulsory for all new students to attend the Ta’aruf week during the first week
after registration of new students.
H. PLACEMENT TEST
1. ARABIC AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE
All new students are required to sit for the English and Arabic Placement Tests. The fee
is RM20.00 per student and payment is made to the Faculty of Modern Languages and
Communication / Faculty of Education on the registration day. The date of the tests will
be informed by the faculty later.
2. MALAY LANGUAGE
This course (MPW1113) is compulsory to all new local students who did not achieve a
credit in Bahasa Melayu SPM except for students enrolling in the programs offered by the
Academy of Islamic Studies (AI).
3. FARDHU AIN PLACEMENT TEST
All new students are required to sit for the Fardhu Ain Placement Test. The date of the
test will be informed by the Student Development Division later.
4. AL-QURAN PLACEMENT TEST
All new students are required to sit for the Al-Quran Placement Test. The date of the test will be informed by the Student Development Division later

All KUIS students are subject to Attire & Appearance Code (Student’s Discipline Rules
Amendment 2006) on the Registration Day and during any activity in the campus.

• Long pants of any suitable colour.
• Dark coloured shoes and socks.
• Any traditional attire which is acceptable to the Islamic code of dressing.
• Black or dark blue Songkok when attending classes or any University official
