TEMPORARY LEADERSHIP CHANGES

I would like to inform the Pagewood community that I

have been asked to relieve as principal of Malabar

Public School, effective from this Wednesday. The

relieving period will definitely be until the end of this term

and may extend until the end of this year. While I regret

having any time away from Pagewood, circumstances at

Malabar have led to this request by their School

Education Director.

Miss Hoskins will be the relieving principal at Pagewood

Public School, supported by a truly wonderful and

dedicated staff. Year 3/4 will be taught by Miss

Matthews, who has worked at our school quite a few

days this term. In next week's newsletter, Miss Hoskins

will inform you of the arrangements for the role of

relieving Assistant Principal.

Ms M Hogan

ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Final results from the Zone Athletics Carnival have been

confirmed. Congratulations to all our participating

students on their fantastic achievements.

Our Junior and Senior Boys' Relay teams both placed

fourth!

Congratulations again to all students who participated in

the carnival. Please remember to return washed singlets

to Miss Hoskins ASAP.

SOCCER

Congratulations to the Junior and Senior soccer teams

on another successful round. Both teams defeated

Botany, the Juniors 4-1 and the Seniors 5-1.

Soccer training will be held on Wednesday morning at

8:30am. Shin pads and boots must be worn.

CANTEEN CLOSED THIS WEDNESDAY

Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteers, we will

regrettably have to close the canteen on Wednesday, 5th

September. We are always in need of volunteers for

both Wednesdays and Fridays. If interested, please call

Tahnee on 0404 041 885 or catch her in the playground.

Thank you to Canteen Volunteers for:

The Early Stage One Public Speaking Competition will

be held in the school hall this Wednesday afternoon. It

will begin at 1:50pm sharp.

FATHER’S DAY STALL

This year’s Father’s Day Stall was another great

success. We raised a little over $1000! A record I’m

sure.

A huge thanks must go to the volunteers who wrapped

presents, sorted gifts into prices, helped the children

buy something special for dad and even purchased

more gifts so nobody missed out!

Tahnee, Andigone, Laeti, Valentina, May, Amanda,

Allison, Michael, Chrissy, Karen, and Ann, Thank

You!

BOOKFAIR ORDER UPDATE

I phoned Scholastic as to why the back order books

had not arrived. We usually receive them within one

week. They were sent over a week ago but seem to

have been lost in the mail. Scholastic assured me that

a new batch will be sent today. So sorry for the delay.

Thanks, Mrs Kerves

HEAD LICE (PEDICULOSIS)

There have been a couple of cases discovered

recently at school. We therefore advise that your

child’s hair is checked regularly. It is advisable that you

treat your child with a head lice preparation, and repeat

this treatment after seven days. If this is done, the

problem should be eradicated, as lice has a seven day

breeding cycle. For more information visit:
