Workshop Topics

Presentation Guidelines• Use the microphone if it is available during the session. It provides a consistent

volume for the people in the far corners of the room.

• If the presentation uses PowerPoint:

– Use the Orientation template

– The font size should be no smaller than 24 point

– Consider limiting the text on the PowerPoint to key points – fill in your talking

parts in the notes section

– Be prepared for technical difficulties and have a back-up plan if technology

fails.

• Make every effort to plan in advance how to extend the session if no one is

talking or putting the least important parts at the end if there are a lot of

questions and it is difficult to get through everything. It is important for the flow of

the day to end on time.

• Be mindful and inclusive of all UNC students and their support people.

• Consider ways to make the session interactive – it’s more fun for all involved!
