“And I will ask the Father, and He will

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
Does anyone have a piano in need of a new home?
It never ceases to amaze me just how active our parish family is. As I
mentioned before I am sure that the minute we have our new Center for
Christian Formation it will be in full use with a waiting list of its own.
For now it’s the piano that has a waiting list!
We have a musical ensemble that has recently formed to provide music
for retreats, assemblies, and special occasions. They are full of talent and
enthusiasm but need time together to practice. The problem is that our
practice piano is in Our Lady of Lourdes Hall and that hall is our busiest
so it is not always available to them for practice. Bishop Isern Hall
would be large enough for them but it doesn’t have a piano and the piano
from Our Lady of Lourdes Hall can’t be moved back and forth without
knocking it out of tune each time we move it. So we are looking to give
Bishop Isern Hall a piano of its own.
If you or someone you know would be interested in donating a piano for
Bishop Isern Hall it would be a great help. Please spread the word and
contact me at msgr@ololourdes.org if a piano in need of a home shows
up. Our new group will be most grateful and all of us will share in the
blessing as they bring life to our prayer with music.
Finally, let us not forget that this Monday is Memorial Day. Memorial
Day in particular is when we remember with gratitude those who have
died in the service of our country. Even today men and women continue
to offer their greatest gift so that we might live free. Let us remember
them and their families in our prayers and work together to build a
society worthy of their sacrifice. God bless them.
Blessings,
Monsignor Schwanger

reunirse a practicar.
Bendiciones,
Monseñor Schwanger

ENCYCLICAL LETTER EVANGELIUM VITAE BY SAINT JOHN PAUL II ON THE VALUE AND INVIOLABILITY OF HUMAN LIFE
The Lord said to Cain: “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground” (Gen 4:10). The voice of the blood shed by men continues to cry out, from generation to generation, in ever new and different ways.
The Lord’s question: “What have you done?”, which Cain cannot escape, is addressed also to the people today, to
make them realize the extent and gravity of the attacks against life which continue to mark human history; to make them dis-
cover what causes these attacks and feeds them; and to make them ponder seriously the consequences which derive from
these attacks or the existence of individuals and peoples.
El Señor dice a Caín: “¿Qué has hecho?

THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT
BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN 2014
Do not forget that the Respect Life Ministry is outside the church before and after to collect and distribute the
Baby Bottles. We request that you return all of them, full or empty, since they will be used by other parishes and
the replacement cost of lost ones would diminish our total contribution to such a worthy cause.
If you need to return the Baby Bottle after June 1st, please bring it to the Parish office as soon as possible and we
will pick them up.
We thank you for your generosity! May God bless you always!
Thank you for your gift of LIFE!!!.

Blessed Mother, place our prayers at the Foot of your Son’s Cross
The Virgin Mary appeared to six children on June 24, 1981 in Medjugorje, Bosnia Herzegovina, a country
dominated by atheistic communism. In the midst of a political persecution of the strong Catholic faith of a
rural people suffering and depleted, the Mother of God appeared in a succession of a great number of mysti-
cal events. Mary quickly is presented under the title of the Queen of Peace. This is the central point of her
message, in a world that increasingly moves away from true peace, as only Jesus can give. The petition of
Mary in Medjugorje is simple and clear: prayer, fasting, confession, the Eucharist and the reading of the
Holy Bible are unfailing paths to find true conversion.
Your holy hour is the second Thursday of each month in the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, after
the daily 7:00 pm mass. For more information contact: Ana Maria Mayorga (305) 385-4437
Music Ministry
We in the music ministry are blessed twice. Through the act of giving our time and talent to provide music for the
Lord, we are given the opportunity to enrich our own spiritual lives, as well as the spiritual lives of those in our
parish community. The music ministry plays a vital role in the life of the parish. We are primarily responsible
for all of the music at the weekend masses and other special liturgical events.

Nueva Vida (English)
Nueva Vida is a movement within the Archdiocese of Miami that believes those who suffer from
addiction and codependency can find healing through the love of God. We bring families together
to share, and thereby bring both sides of addiction together, and help families understand the root
of the disease. The ministry hosts one-day and weekend retreats that focus on every aspect of the
addiction.

Church Communities Basis Of Our Lady of Lourdes
We are the answer to the New Evangelization, to the call of Saint John Paul II, and to the final document of
the Bishop’s Synod at Aparecida in Brazil. We assume the responsibility as a movement of evangelization,
with small communities, and large ones as well. Thereby, we are committed to Our Lord, and inspired by
the Holy Spirit to be apostles and missionaries of Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to work with strength and creativity so that by testimony, we might faithfully bring the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to the men and women who do not know Him. We also want to evangelize people
who are already baptized, by contributing to the growth of the Kingdom of God.

Message from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger" Where will you get the joy of loving? - in the Eucharist, Holy Communion. Jesus has made himself the bread of life to give us life.
Night and day, he is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that adoration. In our congre-
gation, we used to have adoration once a week for one hour, and then in 1973, we decided to have adoration one hour every day. We
have much work to do. Our homes for the sick and dying destitute are full everywhere. And from the time we started having adora-
tion every day, our love for Jesus became more intimate, our love for each other more understanding, our love for the poor more
compassionate... Look at the tabernacle-see how much this love means now. Do I know that? Is my heart so clean that I can see Jesus
there? And to make it easy for you and for me to see Jesus, he made himself the bread of life, so that we can receive life, so that we
may have a life of peace, a life of joy. Find Jesus, and you will find peace.
...is at the heart of Stewardship.”

may be. Your gift gives twice: first to you with fixed payments and a tax deduction, and second to Our Lady of
Lourdes, when you are born to eternal life. Contact the Office of Planned Giving at (305) 762-1110 for more informa-
tion on Charitable Gift Annuities.

Or choose another method of planned stewardship with our Faith
Direct program. It is an electronic giving program that lets you make
all of your contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes via automatic pay-
ment each month from your checking account or credit card just as
you do now with your mortgage payment, household bills and other
expenses. What a wonderful way to simplify your stewardship, and
what a blessing to Our Lady of Lourdes as well.
