from Components

You can also open them from the toolbar

The Taft History Department requires that you use Google Docs.

Login to Google with your Taft email address and network password to work on your paper.

Create a To Do listTip: enter deadlines here

Starting a new Bibliography

Choose your source typefrom the pull-down menu

and click on Create citation

You may view the tutorial explaining the source type you’ve selected.

Click Continue.

(Ask a Librarian if you’re not sure.Don’t worry though, NoodleTools

will let you change it later if you need to)

Complete the form for your source typeExample: Citing a print book

Enter the following for a print book:Contributor (author or editor)

TitlePublisher

Place of publication Year of publication

(Edition and Series, if given)

You may change the type of itemyou’re citing from the source

using this pull-down menu

Change the overall source typeusing this pull-down menu

You can choose Quick Cite to Copy & Paste a citation

(found in an electronic database or on a website, for instance)

Once the fields are filled,scroll down and click on Submit

Leave this checkbox checked !

NoodleTools automatically saves

your citations

Edit, Copy or Delete a citation

Click New to create notecards that are automatically linked to your sources

Go to Notecards in the menu bar to organize your notecards

and create an outline.

Click on Footnote Format to open a new window with your footnote for this source

Provides the format for the first footnote and subsequent footnotes.

Also explains more about footnotes including the use of “Ibid.”

Add page number of a quotation / paraphrase in Customize the example

and NoodleTools will autofill the footnotes above

Check boxes to email both your outline and notecards
