The OT is inspired by God and it is useful!

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16–17, NLT

Prophets

Less than 2% of the OT prophecy is messianic. Less than 5% specifically describes the New Testament age. Less than 1% concerns events yet to come. The prophets indeed announce the future. But it was the usually the immediate future of Israel, Judah and other nations…rather than our future.

"I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done.“
