Container glass

• Production 1,1 ml. t.• It is 8% less 2010• There are 10 glass factories• 21% of national consumption is imported• Utility collected 112 000 tons (58% of national

collection)

Float glass

• Production 14 ml. sq. m.• It is 22% less 2010• Only one factory left (possibly 2012 will be last

one for it)• 73% of national consumption is imported• Utility collected 2300 tons

Summary• Year 2011 was rather difficult for Ukrainian glass factories.

We saw close down of some factories and decrease of production. But due to high natural gas prices cullet and especial FRC was good demanded.

• Difficult situation is with payments cullet delivered to glass producers because of some Vodka makers collapse (e.x. Nemiroff). During the hole year these most financial stable flint glass consumers expired political pressure and inside corporate conflicts between owners.

• There are still no other companies except Utility which have modern recycling facilities. All other collected volumes have been “processed” manually at glass works.
