Developing a Team Model:
In a team, conflicts or performance issues are dealt with as a team:- Team awareness- Team involvement- If it affects the team, then the team is included.- Responsibilities are shared by those who are responsible.- Conflicts and performances no longer become personal between Coach and
individual leaders.- Leaders respond better to peer correction. Example: core values, vision, mission of
the team.- Once everyone has had their say and there is no agreement, then the Coach will
make the final decision.
As a team Member I agree to support the team in the following manner:- To faithfully attend Team meetings and events- To be honest and open about my faults, failures, opinions, ideologies, and to risk
conflict in discussing them.- To support and validate the opinions and ideologies of all team members even if I
don’t agree with them.- To support team decisions after dialogue had been completed, even if I disagree
with the final decision.- To maintain the bond of unity and peace with all team members by promptly
resolving any conflict and offenses with them.- To model to others what team concepts and principles are all about.- To forgive myself and others if we fail to fulfill this team covenant agreement.- To promptly return communications and carry out action steps previously agreed
upon.

MINISTRY OF HELPSUsing your Spiritual Gifts, Abilities and Talents
I Corinthians 12: 12-21, 27-31
1. Help – a reliever or someone to share the load. To give assistance to. To give support to, or contribute to. To take hold together with against.
2. Ministry or Minister – To serve or wait upon another.
Mark 10:42-45 Serving is the key to promotion.
Steps to a Successful Helps Ministry
I. Have a call, and recognize it.
a. Romans 11: 29 the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.b. Authority comes from God’s call on your life to do the job.
II. Know that you are gifted to do the job.
a. Romans 11: 29 gifts always go with the call.b. I Peter 4: 8-11 Minister in God’s ability not your own.c. I Corinthians 15: 9, 10 allow the gift to do the work. Proverbs 18:16d. God will always ask you to do what you cannot do, so that He can develop
you where you can.
III. Be faithful to what is at hand to do.
a. Ecclesiastes 9: 10a “Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with all your heart”
b. Matthew 25:14-30 Faithful with the gift doubles the ability.
c. Luke 16: 10-12 You must be faithful over little before you are ruler over much.
1. I Corinthians. 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.”
2. Proverbs 25:19, “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint.
3. Proverbs 13:17, “A wicked messenger falls into mischief: but a faithful Ambassador is health.
4. Proverbs 28: 20, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings.”
IV. Serving Yourself to the Top
a. Luke 14: 7-11 He that humbles himself, will be exalted.b. Mark 10:35 -45. Jesus told his disciples when they were disputing over
there positions in the kingdom, “Whosoever of you will be the chief, will be servant of all.
c. Philippians 2: 5-11. Jesus took certain steps to exaltation. 1) He made Himself of no reputation, 2) He took upon Himself the form of a servant, 3) He humbled Himself, 4) He became obedient, “Wherefore God highly exalted Him…”d. I Peter 5:5-6. God will always have a higher pedestal to place us on than
we could have for ourselves. Let God exalt you!

PASTORAL THEOLOGYStephanie Harrison
Moses appoints Leaders: Exodus 18:13 – 27
Moses sat to judge the people – from morning until evening.
When Moses father-in-law saw all that he done to the people he said, “What is this thing that you are doing to the people?” “Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?”
Moses reply was that the people come to require of God. When they have a difficulty, they come to me.
Jethro said, “The thing you are doing is not good, you and the people will wear away.”This thing is too much for you.You are not able to perform it by yourself.
Jethro gives counsel, and God will be with you.
Stand before God for the people, so you may bring the difficulties to God.You shall teach them the statues and the laws.Show them the way in which they must walk.Show them the work they must do.
He was actually saying:_____________ For the people._____________ them the word.______ _____ ___________._________ them the work they must do.
Select able men / Place them to be rulers of thousands, hundreds, fifties, & tens.
Men that fear GodMen of truthMen that hate covetousness.
Let them judge the people at all times.
The great matters they will bring to you and the small matters they will handle themselves. This will make it easier, they will bear the burden.
If you do this:
You will be able to endure,The people will go to their place of peace.
So Moses chose able men out of Israel.
ABLE MEN: Bishops, Elders and Deacons
1Timothy 3 Traits of Bishops, Elders and Deacons 1Timothy 4 Be an example to others
You are Not able to perform this yourself alone:
Application: The Christian life is not easy to live “on your own.” You need people who stand beside you to support you to succeed. That’s why God created the church. There are no Lone Rangers in the family of God. We really do need each other. We are a community, a family of faith, and we all work together, we can accomplish great things for Christ.
1 Corinthians 12 / We are many members yet one body
1 Corinthians 13 / Love is the principle thing in caring
They don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Pastoral Care – Giving care as a pastor One dimension of small group ministry is to fulfill pastoral care.
PORT: Prayer, Outreach, Relationship, Training.
Jesus Christ is the supreme Shepherd, and thus the Ultimate Pastor.
“Nothing we do or give up for the sake of our calling will ever compare with Jesus’ self giving life and his sacrificial death on the cross.
John 10:11. 14, 161 Peter 5:2, 4
Churches and the world will increasingly need under-shepherds who are less like each other and increasingly more like Jesus, the Chief Shepherd.
Why did the Son of God come to the earth?_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Jesus as a PastorHis conversation with the Samaritan Woman/treated her as a person.Told His disciples, follow me; I make you fishermen of men.He brought a healing touch
Page 9 of 15
He taught us how to prayHe taught us how to love our enemies. He was a story teller / every day life experiences. He was forgiving. He was Chief ServantJesus Blessed the little Children, Infants were brought to him (Matt. 19)Jesus and the Tax collector Luke 19:1-10He fed the multitudeThe woman caught in adultery, he forgaveRaise the deadWash Disciples feetJohn 15: 12 “Love one another as I have loved you.”He gave His LifeHe went about doing good and healing all that was oppressed of the devil. He is still making intercession for us.He continually with the twelve pried their fingers off of their small ideas about God and people, and, then, into their empty hands he placed the key’s to God’s Kingdom.
LOOKING UP AND OUT:
We must all consider Jesus as Supreme Pastor of His church. Spotlight Him as the supreme MODEL of Pastoral Work. How did he accomplish His goals?
Nothing is more freeing and invigorating than looking away from ourselves to the one who called himself “the good shepherd.” We must as ministers study the four gospels.
What about Jesus’ education:
Christ did not launch into his pastoral ministry by getting the equivalent of a seminary education. His views were not shaped by the academic centers of His day.Education has its strategic place, but I believe it is not the place many of us think it has.
Do “smarts” ever replace “hearts?”Education is good, but it is not the platform for pastoral work. There are benefits to being academically trained.A respect for revealed truth. An appreciation for Church History. The discipline for personal study.
An exposure to godly men & women. (A professor once said, “Get to know the teachers and major in a man, not in a subject.” When biblical truth flows from Christ like teachers, lives are profoundly shaped for ministry.)
Note: When “tools” and “skills” usurp matters of the heart, an idolatrous attitude poisons ministry.
BRINGING GOD TO PEOPLE: (PASTORING)
(A Poem from John Frye’s Mother)
I sought to hear the voice of GodAnd climbed the topmost steeple; And God declared, “Go down again;I dwell among the people”.
Simply put, pastoring is to bring God to His people. John 1:14
The apostle Paul – He used the most intimate relational images to describe his ministry-the ministry of a nursing mother and a caring father (1 Thess. 2:7, 11)
Our identity is linked to the type of ministry we will give. How we care for people. Why we care for people. Selfishly or Unselfishly?
How did Jesus grow in His vocational identity? His Hebrew Bible provided the shape of His identity.
We should be conformed to Christ Identity. Romans 8:29
Always remember The Promises of the written Word needs to become the present living voice of God, a voice that calls out our deepest identity and equips us for our predestined mission. Jeremiah 1:5 (You are called by name, He is with you He knows you)
Always minister out of a ‘healed’ heart not a ‘hurt’ heart. Why?
“Everything falls into place… only after our identity as designed by God is called out in our personal encounter with Him.”
JESUS AND COMPASSION:
People respond to Compassion.Deep – felt compassion is one of the primary and controlling emotions of pastoral ministry. Jesus felt it and, as Chief Shepherd, modeled it for all who would pastor.Matthew 9:36 the word “Compassion” is a verb meaning, “to feel deep passion for.” Strong emotions.
Example: Jesus heals the leper. Why? To demonstrate that mercy triumphs over justice, Compassion supersedes command when human life is in jeopardy. (Notice: Jesus supernaturally united this man to God.)
If Christian behavior includes gut – level feelings of mercy, making God’s heart visible, then surely we who are having Christ formed in us must model a radical compassion.Compassion is more than just preaching. It is moving out from behind the pulpit and into the lives of harassed and helpless people. Bringing God to people.
Important Facts:
People’s hunger for God is real, and they know when that hunger is being met, not with proclaimed truth about God, but by God Himself through that proclaimed truth.Pastor - teaching becomes truly effective when revealed truth is honestly communicated from life that is under constant transformation. The world does not need to see a lot of people devoted to Christ; they need to see Jesus Himself.Every small group leader needs to be involved in a small worshiping, caring, praying group.Empowered pastors have a God given inner desire not only to be like Christian character, but also to minister like Christian power through the gifts of the Spirit.
REACH OUT TO VISITORS:
Prayer - surround those going through difficult times; hospital visits, deaths, time of need, etc.Fellowship times; “In small group” and “outside of the group”Add spice to you group. Games, outings, pot luck.Group involvement
Page 13 of 15
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEADER:
1. Be a born-again Christian. John 3:7, “Ye must be born again.”
2. Be filled with The Spirit. I John 2:20, 27 “You have an unction (anointing) from the Holy One…”
3. Be a member of the Church that you are serving. I Co. 1:10, “That you speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you; but perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgment.”
4. Be a tither. Malachi 3: 9-12. “God will rebuke the devourer.”
5. Be a soul-winner. Matt. 28:19, 20. “The Great Commission.”
6. Be faithful in all things. I Co. 4:2 “Requirement for stewards”
7. Be a person of prayer. I Tim 2:8
8. Be loyal to leadership. Hebrews 13: 17. “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they must watch for your souls, as they that must give an account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
9. Have your home in order. I Timothy 3: 4, 5, 11, 12
10.Always walk in Love. Ephesians 4: 1-3, I co. 1:10
Page 14 of 15
SUPERNATURAL MINISTRY OF HELPSWorking With a Supernatural Minister
I. Moses and the Children of Israel are good examples for us:
a. Exodus 17:8-13. Aaron and Her represented the two most important ministries in the church, Intercessory Prayer and The Ministry of Helps.
b. Exodus 18: 13-21. God set a plan for Moses to follow: 1. “Be to God for the people” pray for them.2. “Teach them the ordnances and the Laws” the Word of God.3. “Show them the way they must walk” Be an example4. “And the work they must do”
II. Ministry of Helps in the New Testament
a. Matthew 14:15-21. Jesus used His disciples in serving the miracles food to the people. When we are in our place the people will receive supernatural food! There were twelve baskets of fragments taken up; God will always make sure the ministry of helps get their baskets full!
b. Romans 8:26. The Holy Spirit is in the Ministry of Helps. In John 16:7 the Holy Spirit is called the Comforter; the amplified also uses the word “Helper”.
III. God said in Genesis 2:18, “It is not good that the man be alone…” He answer was “Helps”. God has not called any of us to walk alone.
IV. Study Ephesians 4: 1-16.

ENROLLING WITH CHRIST IN THE SCHOOL OF PRAYERDr. Mike Harrison
Lesson #1:
Text: Luke 11:1-4 “Lord, teach us to pray…”
1. This series comes from dissatisfaction in my own prayer life.2. The lessons will be delivered by a student of prayer not a master.3. God will, during this study, carry us to new dimensions in prayer.
Why do we need to pray?
#1 – Because God wants us to invite Him to move in our world:• Genesis 1:26-28; 3:1-15 Authority given / authority lost• Jeremiah 33:1-3 God’s invitation to us to pray• James 4:2, 3 “Ye have not because ye ask not!”• Hebrews 4:14-16 why we can pray boldly?
#2 – Because Jesus prayed:• He began his ministry with 40 days of prayer (Luke 4:1-19)• The disciples watched him pray (Luke 11:1)• He withdrew himself and prayed (Luke 5:16)• “He went up into a mountain apart to pray” (Matt. 14:23)• He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46) ***Note how prayer was followed by power!
#3 – Because the Early Church prayed:• Acts 2:42 “They continued steadfastly… in prayers”• Acts. 3 The hour of Prayer• Acts 4:29-32 Prayed for boldness to share the gospel• Acts. 12:5-17 Prayed for Peter’s release from prison• Acts 13:1,2 They prayed and fasted and “The Holy Ghost said”• The Apostle Paul cited several prayers throughout his Epistles
Read the text: Luke 11:1-4 Enrolling with Christ in the School of Prayer is to respond the way the disciples did: “Lord, teach us to pray”. Jesus answered their request by giving them the Lord’s Prayer. In this prayer we learn:1. To experience our relationship with God as Father2. To exercise Kingdom authority in the earth3. How to fulfill the will of God in earth as it is in heaven4. To enjoy the blessedness of His daily provision5. To receive forgiveness of our sins and to forgive the sins of others6. To activate God’s delivering power
Will you enroll with Christ in the School of prayer?• Set aside 15 minutes a day to pray• Find an accountability partner• Pray with your bible and notebook near to record anything God may
impress upon your heart to read or do• Act on God’s revealed will to you
ENROLLING WITH CHRIST IN THE SCHOOL OF PRAYERDr. Mike Harrison
Lesson #4:
Text: Luke 11: 1 – 4 • “Our Father” – to WHOM we direct our prayer.• “Hallowed” – speaks of the NATURE of the one who answers our
prayer.• “Thy Kingdom come” – prays for God’s RULE.• “Thy Will be done” – submits to His WILL.***WHEN GOD’S RULES AND HIS WILL IS DONE, WE WILL HAVE HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!• “Give us this day our daily bread” – asks for God’s provision.
Praying for God’s Provision:
1) Notice it is not the first order of prayer – Praise, authority, and submission precede provision.2) Notice the frequency of prayer – “…DAILY…”3) God’s provision is linked to submission to His Kingdom:
a. Matthew 6: 19 – 33i. Who do you love?ii. What are you thinking about?iii. What are you seeking?
b. Psalm 23: 1 – 6i. Are you listening to the Great Shepherd?ii. Are you walking in paths of righteousness?iii. Provision and blessing are the result of following the
Good Shepherd! 4) Find scriptures that promise you what you need. 5) Pray the prayer of faith: Mark 11:24; III John 2 & I John 5:14 & 15; Philippians 4:10 – 19.
ENROLLING WITH CHRIST IN THE SCHOOL OF PRAYERDr. Mike Harrison
Lesson #5:
Luke 11: 1 – 4 • “Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be Thy name, Thy
kingdom come, Thy will be done” – peace with God.• “Give us this day our daily bread” – peace with our circumstances.• “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors” – peace with
ourselves and others.
Receiving forgiveness through prayer:
1. II Samuel 11 David & Bathsheba commit adultery, and David orders the death of her husband / II Sam. 12: 1 – 4 Nathan the prophet exposes David’s sin / Psalm 51 David’s prayer for forgiveness: David asked for
• Mercy – not receiving what one deserves• Cleansing – a clean heart• Return of God’s presence• Restoration of joy• Deliverance from consequences
2. I John 1: 6 – 10 We must confess our sin to be forgiven3. Psalm 32: 1 – 5 Contrasts guilt and forgiveness
Releasing forgiveness to others through prayer:
1. Matthew 6: 9 – 15 2. Mark 11: 24 – 263. I John 3: 18 – 234. I Peter 3: 6, 75. Luke 17: 1 – 6 6. Matthew 18: 21 – 357. Matthew 7: 1 – 12
**Jesus places the prayer to receive forgiveness with the prayer to release forgiveness because they work in tandem**
ENROLLING WITH CHRIST IN THE SCHOOL OF PRAYERDr. Mike Harrison
Lesson # 6:
Read Luke 11: 1 – 13
• “Teach us to pray”• Prayer includes worship• Prayer is surrender to His Kingdom and Will• Prayer appropriates God’s provision• Prayer receives and releases forgiveness• Prayer accepts deliverance
The Prayer for Deliverance:
• Deliverance comes by God’s leading1. Psalm 232. James 1:2 – 8, 12 – 17
• Prayer is Spiritual Warfare1. Daniel 10: 2, 3, 10 – 14 2. Ephesians 6: 10 – 18
Prayer Requires Tenacity:
• Luke 11; 5 – 13 1. Going to a friend at mid-night2. importunity – shamelessness 3. Ask and keep on asking…see…knock…4. It’s like asking your Father
• Luke 18: 1 – 8 1. never give up2. notice who is worn out by tenacious prayer3. what God is looking for is faith
• Ephesians 6: 11, 13, 14 “Having done all STAND”

MUSIC
CHURCH 212º PROCEDURES MANUAL
MUSIC MINISTRY
Psalm 78:72And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.
• Arrive early.• Spend time other than church worshiping God.• Pray in the spirit before the service.• Maintain a spirit of excellence.• Speak with minister before service for special direction.• Practice going from song to song without introduction. Unless instructed, don’t
preach between songs, leave that to the minister, encouragement is fine as lead by the spirit.
• Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the Minister, God may reveal something He wants to do.
• Open your eye, look around from time to time, and see what is going on around you.

• We believe that for the salvaXon of lost and sinful people, regeneraXon by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essenXal.
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the ChrisXan is enabled to live a godly life.
• We believe in the resurrecXon of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrecXon of life and they that are lost unto the resurrecXon of damnaXon.
• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and the evidence of that unity being shown by how we love one another.
