Annual Report 2016-17
Introduction
It is with great joy and utmost humility that we present the Annual Report of MGOCSM 2016-17. The Grace of the Almighty was showered on all the activities of MGOCSM and the intercession ofour Patron Saint Parumala Mar Gregorios has been a strong fortress for the stewards of MGOCSM.The activities of MGOCSM spread vigorously at the parish level and this opened up immense possibilitiesfor the student ministry. We thank God Almighty for all that could be done during the year under report.
1. Units and Activities
Parish units, Institution units and E-units were the three levels in which the MGOCSM worked.Parish units function under the leadership of the respective Vicars, Vice Presidents and student secretariesof the parish. Institution units work under the guidance of the institutional head or the staff advisor andthe student secretaries duly elected. E-unit is a new venture to unite students who are not able to comeregularly to the meetings due to physical inconvenience. The possibility of establishing E-units is beingexplored in various parts of the world and the work is in progress.
MGOCSM full time workers, diocesan officials, student leaders and senior friends visited andorganised MGOCSM units and formed new units in various schools, colleges and parishes. During thisperiod about 168 units were registered with the central office. Many unregistered units are functioning inthe parishes, schools and colleges. The local units in various parishes were visited by MGOCSM priestson various Sundays. They gave leadership to the unit level activities and also inaugurated new units indifferent places. Leaders visited various units and met the diocesan leaders and senior friends for thepromotion of the unit activities in the local level.
A hand book giving guidelines for unit activities on the basis of the amended constitution is readyfor publication. The hand book will be available at MGOCSM book shop during the next academicyear. In addition to inside Kerala units we have active units and programmes outside Kerala and outsideIndia.
