Daniel 9:4-19 Nehemiah 1:4-11

The God To Whom We Pray

The more we know of the God to whom we pray, the more effective our prayer will be.

The God To Whom We Pray

Covenant Keeper He never breaks His Word

The God To Whom We Pray

Steadfast Lover the corresponding term (xeseD) is one of the

more difficult single Hebrew words to translate. It carries the idea of sustained loyalty and love at the same time. Some suggested translations are “constant love” (TEV), “faithful love” (NJB), “unchanging love,” or “trustworthy love.” This term is used twenty-six times in Psalm 136.

right

The God To Whom We Pray

Merciful Abounding in Mercy Refusing to give us what we deserve

but instead pouring out His holy wrath on His only begotten Son

The God To Whom We Pray

Forgiving Paying for our sin with His own blood

Confession Of Sin For The People Of Israel I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful

and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Confession Of Sin For The People Of Israel Both Daniel and Nehemiah

understood the importance of taking responsibility for the sins of their people

Neh. 1:6 confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even I and my father's house have sinned.

Daniel 9:5 …we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules.

Confession Of Sin For The People Of Israel Is national prayer appropriate for

today? “One nation under God”

Israel’s Suffering Due To Sin Both Daniel and Nehemiah the

captivity. Daniel was an old man at the time of

ch. 9 He was captured as a young man

and had lived under 3 or 4 different rulers.

Now he realized they were near the end of the prophesied 70 years

Israel’s Suffering Due To Sin Nehemiah had risen to a position of

huge responsibility. He saw God’s time was near. He risked his own life to accomplish

the will of God. Both had suffered with Israel for the

disobedience of the people of God 70 years of captivity

The Request

God’s Answer

Daniel Gabriel reveals the end of time Daniel’s 70 weeks Vs 25 Know therefore and

understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.

70 Weeks

Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.

Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again

And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing.

70 Weeks

That equals 69 weeks Some scholars believe that to the

very day Christ entered Jerusalem on “Palm Sunday”

70 Weeks

The final week is believed to be the Tribulation period.

7 years of terrible trouble for the entire world.

I believe the Church will have been raptured.

You study it for yourself.

God’s Answer

Nehemiah Permission to return to Jerusalem to

rebuild the walls and establish the gates and restore the place where God met with man, the Temple
