The Corporate Prayer of Confession

Merciful Creator, Judge of all the earth and Father of all who trust in You; with heavy hearts, we acknowledge that it is our sin that made the crucifixion of Your beloved Son necessary. We confess that we have fallen short of Your glory by our words, thoughts, and actions. We have not and cannot live up to the demands of Your holy law. All of us, like wayward sheep, have gone astray; we have turned from You and gone our own way. As a result, You have laid on Jesus all of our sins. Forgive us for our rebellion, our hard hearts and our apathy toward our sin and toward our Savior. Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. Cleanse us with Your blood, which You shed for us. Through Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

The Assurance of God's Pardon – Romans 4:25-5:2

Jesus was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
