Mobile Observation

Rose Yesha

IntroductionThis observation was conducted in the

commons, specifically the section between the coffee shop and the tables across from SalsaRitas

The people observed were seen with many different devices

The most popular devices included iPhones, iPad’s , and multibrand laptops

Applications of interestFacebookMyUMBCGmailGoogleVarious search engines

Patterns?Facebook appeared to be the most popular

application among the iPhone users Multi-tasking between using the iPhone and

another mobile device such as an iPad or laptop was very common

Although mobile platforms are available for myumbc, gmail, and google- it seems that there was a marked preference for using these applications on larger platforms
