Following the success of what has become a musical and
cultural staple in Dubai; Fred Perry ‘Sub-Sonic Live’ fifth
edition was held on Thursday March 31st, with Irish Indie
band All Tvvins. The band duo, Lar Kaye and Conor Adams,
have garnered a massive following due to their songs’
frenetic energy, heavy dose of melody and groove as well as
Adams’ raspy vocals.
ALL TVVINS’ charming cocktail of art-pop and post-punk
has allowed their singles to be viewed more than 2 million
times, as well as having their song featured in the huge-
selling FIFA 16 game.
Open to the public for the third consecutive year, Sub-Sonic
Live took place at Lock, Stock & Barrel on the 8th floor of
the Grand Millennium Hotel in Tecom. The gig has a free
admission policy on first come basis.
Celebrating Fred Perry's unique relationship to music and
street style since the 1950s, Sub-Sonic Live promises acts
that, until now, would never have appeared on the same line
up, bringing together the best new music and music heritage
from the past 50 years, alongside amazing DJs.

The sixth series of Fred Perry Sub-Sonic Live was held on
Thursday 26th May 2016 at the popular nightspot, ‘Stereo
Arcade’ in Jumeirah Beach Residence. The gig was headlined
by David Rowntree, the highly talented British musician best
known for being the drummer of iconic rock band, ‘Blur’.
The night’s supporting acts include the Lebanese alternative,
electro-rock act Gurumiran. Along with musical guests, he will be
performing from his first solo album ‘Aberrance’. The album is a
collection of compositions, combining a variety of musical styles
such as jazz guitar with electronic overtones reminiscent of
pioneers like Depeche Mode, New Order and Thom Yorke.
Representing the UAE, Vandalye is one of Dubai's newest
alternative bands. The band is compiled by some of the UAE’s
most talented band mates including Scott Attew, Lucas McCone
and Thomas McCone with their recording EP being launched on
the 29th of May 2016.
