MĂRȚIȘORUL

1st March The legend of „MĂRȚIȘOR”

Mărţişorul is a symbol of spring's return to life. At the beginning, it was represented by a coin, then turned into small river stones painted white and red, strung on a thread.

A kite was waylaid him and kidnapped him of people, shutting him in a dungeon.

Once the sun went down in a village, to dance, taking the image of a young boy.

The world is saddened. The birds no longer sang, no longer flowing springs and children no longer laughing.

No one dared to confront the kite, but one day, a sturdy young man was determined to go to save the sun.

Many Earthlings led him and gave of their powers to help him to defeat the dragon and release the sun.

The road traveled by young lasted three seasons: summer, fall and winter.

           He found the dragon castle and they fought. They braved the days until the kite was shot down. Feeble and injured, he freed the sun.

The sun was high in the sky, nature has risen, people have enjoyed, but the valiant never got to see the spring.

Warm blood of wounded elapsed in the snow. When it melted, sprouted white flowers, snowdrops, harbingers of spring.

Since then, the peoples intertwine two threads: one white and one red.            

They offered to close.Red means love for all that is beautiful, reminiscent of the color of blood Hale.

White symbolizes purity health and the snowdrop, the first flower of spring.

March 1, Romanians have the custom to give each other mărțișoare to have luck throughout the year and be healthy.

After 12 days martisor worn, remove it and link to a fruitful tree, to make more fruit in the year. It is also said that if the weather is nice, then we have a sunny spring.

         On this day, our school students offered „mărțișoare” without regard to gender, age, religion or ethnicity.
