STEPS FORWARD TO
INTERNATIONALIZATION
“Best practices exchanges for internationalization of higher education” Workshop
November, 14th-15th – Sibiu, “Lucian Blaga” University
INTEGRATION an important issue in the internationalization process:
What does integration mean and why is it important?
To integrate people is to put them together to form a new group and keep their
individual characteristics
The important thing about integration is that the individual culture, and members of
cultural communities, are welcomed and accepted for what they are.
…and this is our policy
• Valuing integration tends to be our policy in the internationalization process and
it will be held through the following steps:
orientation and welcome services (Students
associations, welcome week, cultural events)
organization of International weeks
workshops, seminars
• To develop and intensify the process through identifying and establishing
agreements with universities in Europe and around the world on the
basis of similarity in relation to the areas of teaching, research and
innovation.
• The active participation in international mobility programs to increase
the capacity for internationalization
• To be involved more actively in programs such as Erasmus +, CEEPUS,
AUF - scholarship program "Eugen Ionesco“, DAAD, Marie Curie, Fulbright
and others
The major objectives:
Erasmus+ is one of the main programs that have increased the number of
our university mobility, mobility aimed both to students and teachers or
administrative staff.
Regarding this, our university aims further to increase mobility in the next
years
It is expected to increase mobility in Erasmus+ program at a rate of up to
30%.
41 partnerships with higher education institutions from 12 countries
(Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Portugal, Russia,
Spain, Sweden, Turkey)
In order to increase the number of mobility in the Erasmus+ program our
university will create a possible financial support, when the demand for
mobility exceeds.
How are we doing this?
To attract a larger number of foreign students, we will create study programs
in foreign languages.
