What is the NHIN?
A set of policies, standards and services that enable the Internet to be used for secure and meaningful exchange of health information to improve health and health care.• Broad range of exchange needs – including simple, local applications and more robust exchange• To date, development has focused on supporting more robust exchange• For nationwide exchange, common elements needed across the spectrum• No matter the level of exchange, a trust fabric is essential

Production NHIN Exchange PartnersNHIN Limited Production Exchange» A group of trusted entities with a shared governance structure and mission, based upon
validated implementation of NHIN specifications and using a common trust framework, including technical, contractual and operational measures.
